MMC puchased should be formatted once, because new MMC comes with file system FAT-32. and mobile phones supports FAT file system. You can copy your data from MMC to PC using MMC reader/writer first. Then format it in your mobile and then reload your data in formatted MMC at folder created during formatting. Then you may see your MMC working properly. Same here. I just posted on the Nokia discussion site also but if the problem hasn't been solved by now, my guess is that it's a Nokia or AT&T screwup.

The phone could have hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.
