Hello. I have a kitchenaid KSSS36QBX00 refr. It looses power once in a while. There is an on/off switch on the front top of the unit. if i turn it off then on the refr powers up and all if fine. Can this be a bad switch or is there something else putting into this state?

Could be a bad switch, I have actually encountered this problem with this refrigerator several times. Just examine the switch and make sure it isn't burned

I have the older waterpik. In an attempt to change my hose, I took the unit apart. After changing the hose, I cannot seem to turn the unit on...it appears the the on/off switch is locked.

I just ran into the same problem after disassembling my waterpik. I have a problem with the device not pumping water once powered on. It siphons just fine with power off, so I'm puzzled as to why it quit working 1 use after not using it for a long time.
I finally solved the switch problem at least: Before you attempt reassembling the top to the base, gently pry the switch cap prongs inwards until the cap pops loose. THEN assemble the top and base. Once done, align the switch cap with the internal plastic slide that activates the switch, and pop the cap into place. That should solve the issue.

I have a KitchenAid refr. mod. KSRL25FRSS00 it is turned down to the lowest setting and still freezes things in vegetable box. (new control board?)

Is your milk or eggs freezing? All the cooling in the refrig and freezer spaces is done in the freezer. Sometimes, the control labeled freezer temp controls a vent between the freezer and ref space, allowing air into the ref side. the other control determines run time. try turning thefrz setting up to raise the ref temp.

Kitchen aid KECC507GBL3 electric 36in cooktop. Burner switch is out - cannot get glass top off. Have removed all screws from plate mountings on the sides. Is there a trick to this?

Hi,

If it’s a range, there is usually a couple of screws that hold the front of the top down, remove the screws, lift the front of the top and pull it out from the back hinges. Install the new top, make sure there are no loose wiring.
If it’s a cook top then make sure that the power to the cook top has been turned off, open the cabinet and look up. There should be a couple of brackets that secure the cook top. Remove the brackets, carefully lift the top and set it on the counter top (put a towel on the counter top first). replace the glass top (make sure there is no loose or exposed wiring), set the cook top back in the counter, secure it with brackets as was before, and double check your work.

Thanks for contacting fixya.com

Kenmore 70 Series washer need to know how to remove top cover to get to drum. Getting rust stains from water dripping from the top panel. Any help would be appreciated. Model#11026722690.

Get yourself a screwdriver Philips.
Now there are two screws either at the front lower of the electrical switches or in the very back of the washer around the same panel.
Unscrew those screws and once they are loose then you should be able to pull the entire top electrical piece towards you.
Once you have this loose then get a flat headed screwdriver and pop out the two brackets that are attached to the top of the unit, under the controller peice you just removed
Next make sure to unplug the wire that is attached to the lid switch.
Once those are loose then you just simply pull the entire cover towards yourself and then you will have access to the area you want to be in.

Good Luck!

3 yr old kitchenaid side by side freezer is cold but fridge is only half cold Yhere was some ice buildup in the middle vent so I unplugged for about 5 hours then plugged back in and the next day same...

Sounds like the defrost timer is not working. There is an approx. 1/2 inch white round shaft with a hole in the middle somewhere either inside the refr. section or on the front bottom frame. If you stick a screwdriver in it and turn it clockwise until it clicks, the compressor will shut off and go into defrost. If it doesn't come on after about an hour, then turn it until it starts. Mark it to see if it turns. It should do one rotation either every day or twice a day. If it's not turning you need a new timer. Cheap and easy.
