My Brother is a XL-2600i, I'm still getting loops on the bottom of fabric after checking needle, re-threading & checking bobbin. Help. croycie@yahoo.com

Sounds like you may need to adjust your tension on your machine . To loose can cause this to happen .

Hi, I have a silly question. How on earth do I thread my Brother Xr-65 sewing machine?!! I have misplaced the users manual during my recent move. It seems to take thread a little differently than my...

The XR-65 and the XR-65T are the same except that the T indicates the sewing machine was sold with the Quilting Table and some accessories for quilting.

To thread the sewing machine, first lift the presser foot and use the handwheel to raise the needle to its highest position. The thread take up lever should be at its highest point. Place the spool of thread on the horizontal pin secured with the appropriate cap. Make sure that the thread comes off the spool from the bottom front, (Also check that the catch (for holding the thread when not in use) on the spool is at the back of the pin.) Then bring the thread to the thread guide at the back of the machine then down past the reverse lever and back up the the thread take up lever. Wrap the thread around the take up lever so that it slides into the slot and then goes through the hole in the take up lever from right to left. Bring the thread down again and place it behind the guide above the needle. Then thread the needle from front to back.

Brother has the manual available for download: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/files/dlf/doch000061/xr52c65txl64526562ug01enesfr.pdf . See page 31 (43 of the PDF) for the pictures of the upper thread path.

I hope this helps.

I have the brother Ls-2000 sewing machine i threaded the top as well as the bobbin but when i try to sew the thread gets stuck and it bunches up and tangles in the bobbin. also the little bit that did sew...

adjust your tension. You probably did not wind your bobbin properly as well.Make sure you oil your machine every month or so and make sure your bobbin is seated properly before you sew.
Go slower with the pressure foot speed and use the right needle.ALWAYS test on scrap of your sewing material first!!!

I have this machine for like 2 years and can do 2-5oz cowhide and buffalo leather on it (no joke, and it works FLAWLESSLY) inside it has full steel construction, just needs regular oiling compared to pro machines and easily made a few grand $$$ with it while my pro machine is getting repaired (I don't even bother with my pro machine anymore) But you MUST oil it every month and use the RIGHT needle and adjust your tension properly
Also pull out the thread a good 6 inches from the needle and bobbin before dropping the pressure foot and sewing.
Best $70 bucks (WITH TAX) I spent hell, the leather I use costs more than the machine!

I need to know how to time a brother XR 31 sewing machine! The needle keeps hitting the thing that holds the bobbin. by about a 1\4"

This is a job for a professional sewing machine repairman. Any retiming must be caliberated accurately in order to sew properly.
Unless you have the proper timing figures and calibrating tools and know how, I would take it to a professional.
