I don't know how to switch wireless on, on my netbook. There is no visible switch, and when I try to view wireless networks it doesn't see any of the available networks.

Unfortunately I can't enable the wireless network because the computer doesn't see the network, and I don't know how to make it see the available networks - if anyone can help I'd be grateful.

As i know, on acer netbook you have to switch on your wireless by pressing Fn key with one of the f keys, look from an antena icon on this key or go to control panel open network connections and right click on wireless connection and click enable.

Right click on the wireless icon in the right corner next to the clock, then click on "view wireless networks", after that you will see a window with all wireless networks in range, if you can't see anything tell me what message it'a dispayed in this window.

Cant pick up wireless internet from hub

It doesn't sound like you have a wireless router or wireless access point. If you have a hub or switch, that doesn't give you wireless capability.
Many wireless routers will have antennas on the back of the unit (that is one way to tell) but it's not sure since some don't.
You can post back with the make & model of your router, etc. for device specific help.

Cannot log onto wifi due to lack of password

Looks like you are trying to access a wireless router that is secured but you don't have a password. If the router is yours, it's a simple matter to go into the router setup and view or change the wireless password. I suspect, though, you are trying to access someone else's network. In that case, you need to contact the person who manages that network and get their password if they'll let you use it.

Cant connect Verizon Wireless Router

Hi! Try to restart your router. If it doesn't work, try to restart your computer. If it still doesn't work, make sure that you don't have a power on/off for wireless on your laptop. If you have that button, turn it on/off and wait to see for a reaction from the laptop. If nothing happens, try to check the laptop's conectivity to other wireless devices. I hope this will work! Have a nice day!

Why does my wifi doesn;t work? could i fix it?

Look physically around your netbook for a wireless switch that might not be engaged. Otherwise, while in windows, look at your keyboard and hit the Fn button + any of the F1-12 keys that looks like it has a symbol for wireless. You can also check the Start>Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Wireless Adapters page as well, right click on the wireless adapter and click repair.

My wireless driver program was deleted and I need my wireless internet. Can I download a new one? It says my network controller does not there.

If this just happened just restore it to sometime yesterday or last week etc. If that doesn't work of if you have done a bunch of work you don't want to backup, copy, or loose then just go to the HP website and download the driver again.

Can't connect to wifi. Wifi is visible. The Wifi functions in other netbooks and laptops.

If you see it, you should be able to click on it. Make sure you have the right password, if it asks for one.
If you are unable to connect even if you have the right password, then maybe you connected earlier to that network and something went wrong and some settings are meesed up. We will have to remove these settings, then you can add that network again.
Not sure what operating sytem you have, so I will advise you for both xp and 7 (vista is similar to 7)
This is the way to do it:
1) Go to Start and click on Control Panel.
2) Proceed to click View network status and tasks in Control Panel window.
3) Network and Sharing Center window will appear, proceed to click Manage wireless networks on left panel.
manage-wireless-networks-win7.jpg4) Manage Wireless Networks window will appear, and here you can see all available wireless network connection profiles. Select the profile , click on Remove to delete the selected profile. That's it!

Then go and view all available networks around, and try to connect again.

Samsung nc10 netbook will not connect wireless network

I know you posted this a long time ago (5 or 6 months), but just for future reference with other having this same problem or if you just gave up on connecting it wirelessly, here's the scoop. The Samsung NC10 netbook will not connect wirelessly and will sometimes tell you to make sure the the Wireless Switch is "On". However, there's no indication of where this magic switch is. I looked all over my keyboard, the casing, etc. I feel foolish now, but at the time I thought surely there existed an obvious switch. NOPE! The switch is located in "Change Network Settings" or something like that, sorry I don't have the computer right in front of me (I prefer my MacBook). In the window that opens, first thing you will see is your wireless network card listed and a button next to it that says "Configure". Click the "Configure" button and when the window changes you will be able to switch your wireless connection from "Wireless Off" to "Wireless On".

My ausus eee pc series netbook wont connect to the internet what can ido ?

OK - I just went through 2 hours of madness to finally get this going on mine as well - here's what you need to do.

1. Go to your router settings (security) and if you have WEP enabled, change that to WPA (this is a better security anyway)

Follow this - step by step:
2. double click on your wireless icon (lower right corner of windows) - this will open up the "Wireless Network Connection Status"
3. click "View Wireless Networks" - you'll see all available
4. on the menu items to the left, click on "Change Advanced Settings"
5. pops up the Wireless Network Connection Properties window
6. Click Wireless Networks tab
7. click on your home network, or whichever one you normally connect to
8. when it's highlighted, click "Properties"
9. Make sure that the WEP is NOT selected, and select WPA
10. when you go to connect, it will again ask for your credentials - enter it, it should start checking acquiring network address...and you should get connected.

By the way, I tried updating drivers - restarting, moving closer, blah blah - waste of time. Changing the protocol from WEP to WPA did the trick, but remember you have to do it on the router AND your netbook.

if this helps, shoot me a "positive" on the feedback!!
on your netbook, go into your "view wireless networks" - choose the one that you normally use, for example, your home wireless network

Asus eee pc 900a wireless connection not working

I've experienced the same problem with my ASUS netbook. Uninstall the wireless hard - remove hardware in control panel, reboot the machine and allow it to auto find the adapter again. This should correct it. If there are still problems verify that you have the most current driver for the wireless adapter, either from Asus, or the wireless adapter chipset manufacturer (i.e. Intel, broadcomm, etc.)
