Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

I have the Kenmore Elite HE3t and the control panel lets me change the settings but the door stays locked and the drain pump (off the filter) keeps going but there is no water to drain...cleaned drain out yesterday so that is not the issue....when I cleaned the drain, I turned off the water supply and forgot to turn it back on...started a cycle...that is when the errors started...now I am locked even after turning on the water again....thoughts? Tried unplugging, holding down cancel, holding down start....nothing....please help

sorry,I thought there might have been but did not capture if there were...it still allows me to select types of cycles, temp, etc...but can't start a cycle...additionally, I did poor water in the detergent cup and that did drain out of the machine once I plugged it back in....

  • bvillan1 Mar 31, 2011

I didn't think that was the issue as I believe it is just a reset issue...I plugged in the machine where it was trying to start a cycle...reached under by the door latch and opened causing a F11 error, hit the cancel button twice...that cleared the control panel....selected new cycle and it started perfectly and is going through the stages.

I would have liked to run through those steps first and was what I was expected from this forum. on the basis that the advice I received did not solve my problem I would like to request a refund of my money.

I was not satisfied with the steps to fix my issue.

Please let me know when I will receive my refund of 16.00

    Thanks

    Bob

Hi

If the washer is not draining then it is due to a clogged drain pump or a drain filter or a kinked drain hose. To resolve the issue you'll need to clean the drain hose, inspect if the drain hose is plugged. If the hose is fine, then remove the front kick panel and access the drain pump and filter, if you are unable to find the pump and filter remove the back panel as well and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the tub. There is a drain filter connected with the drain pump. It usually gets clogged, and needs to be cleaned every 6-8 months or so. The drain filter is a small white filter connected to drain pump with a hose. If it still doesn't work then you'll need to check the connections of the drain pump, check the electrical connections with a multimeter. If it still doesn't work then you would need to replace the drain pump. Please check this video for cleaning:

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

You will have to test two parts....first is the water inlet valve (part no. 1 in thishttp://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PL..." target="_blank" rel="nofollow" > diagram) and water level switch (part no. 23 in this http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PL..." target="_blank" rel="nofollow" >diagram)

My Kenmore elite he3t is giving me a problem in the spin cycle. Even thought the spin setting is set on high or extra high, the drum turns very slowly and will eventually stop and the washer starts...

The machine will not advance to the high-speed spin cycle unless the water is drained first. The F02 error code manifests this condition as it means draining problem. Either the pump filter is blocked, the drain hose is clogged/kinked, the pressure switch is stuck in the full position, or the pump itself is not working. The display can be cleared by pressing the Pause/Cancel button twice.

Disconnect power and remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily.

Once the panel is off, remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter from any debris that prevents water from draining out properly. Click on the link below for further troubleshooting should the cleaning of the filter does not resolve the problem.

Kenmore Elite HE3t 11042922200 Front Loading. F02 drain Problem

We experienced the same thing. I was able to restart and locate the noise to the water pump. After disassembling the water pump found the impeller shaft sliding out. For some reason this shaft will not stay in place. Had to order a complete pump assembly as the electric motor is not available.

Kenmore elite washer problem

sounds as if you have a drain issue, most common cause of fault is theres something stuck in the pump housing. remove the lower acess panel(3 screws along the bottom of the forn of unit) youll gain acess to the pump housing, remove the large cover to the "button trap" by uncscrewimg the cover, it will be righthin front of you in the center of machine when cover removed, im sure youll find your blockage within there

Kenmore Elite He3T problems, won't drain

The machine knows when there is water left in the tub and will not function properly because the level switch indicator is still open.Ok, to simplify this ,you have a clogged pump and if there is no access into the machine from the front then look at the back to see if there is.Open the panel and remove the hoses from the pump and remove what is caught in it.Also look into the ends of both the 2 hoses.Don't wash RUGS,MOPS,COIN MONEY,NAILS,JEWELERY,UNDER WIRE BRA'S,OR ANY THING THAT DOESN'T BELONG IN THE WASHER,cause these little things don't make it past the pump, therefor washer leaves water inside and error messages start rolling.
