Question about Samsung HL-T5076S 50 in. TV

1 Answer

I have a Samsung DLP TV (model HLT5076S). When you turn it on there is no picture for several minutes (5-10 minutes) and then there is no sound once the picture comes on. You need to turn the TV back off & then restart it to get both picture and sound. Sometimes you need to do this several times before the TV turns on, you hear a click, and then you get picture & sound. It seems like it is waiting for something to warm up? The problem is not the bulb (fairly new) or with the electrical outlet (i've tried a separate outlet on a lightly loaded circuit). PLEASE HELP - I don't want to pay for a new circuit board that may cost almost as much as a new TV!

This is because the CRT that is the cathode tube ray oscillator is taking time to warm up

Samsung lcd tv has sound but no picture. Samsung TV works for about 10 minutes then screen go black but sound continues

Use a flashlight on the screen when it goes black. If you can see a faint picture then the board that controls the back light has gone bad. If you see no picture then the T-Con board is bad. You can get replacement parts here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy and fix the TV yourself. It's not that difficult.

Samsung DLP TV, no picture, has sound

Try replacing the ballast next. Its the small circuit board directly underneath the lamp housing. You can access it through the lamp door. If the ballast is overheating or has a leaking capacitor, the tv won't stay lit for more than a minute or two.
