this isn't a notorious problem. many problems can cause this. the instant on/off behavior just says there is one of many fuses blown in the television. you can't just replace the fuse, when it fails get a failure code find out what it means and repair the problem. I would recommend paying someone to do it if you don't want to trash your mits set.
to get the code you hold down the menu and input button for 5 seconds after the on/off sequence. it is a 2 digit code with a pause inbetween, example 2 pause 2 pause 2 pause etc. is a 2.2 code
Here are the two top reasons that can cause the 60607 to throw a 23 or 24 code. Check these items then let me know what you find.
1. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.
FIRST Check for open fuses F9A04 PART # 283P044020 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF fuses are open then convergence output circuit would be your problem.
