Needle broken taken old one cannot fit new one

Consult your owner's manual.

Make sure you are using the correct needle for your machine. Some machines use different kinds/sizes of needles.

Be sure the needle holder (the screw) is loosened enough to allow the new needle to be inserted and push the needle as far as it will go before tightening. BE CAREFUL not to lose that screw!!!

Verify that the flat side of the needle is facing the correct direction when installing. (Usually the flat side faces the back of the machine, but some machines differ.)

Can I use sewing needles to replace the one in the serger or does it use a round one

Depends on your particular machine. I use the same needles in my overlocker as I use in my sewing machine BUT that varies with makes/models. My coverstitch serger uses different needles.

Best bet would be to consult the owner's manual. If you don't have one, search the internet for:

Does the Singer Serger Ultralock 14u52a use standard needles or do I have to get special ones?

Serger needles are different from regular sewing machine needles, but like sewing machine needles, they are generic. That means that if you buy a serger needle, it should fit most sergers from any manufacturer.

My favorite manufacturer is Organ; they've been in business for a long time and manufacture for commercial and home machines and sergers and they're quite inexpensive.

Serger Needles

Janome Overlockers (sergers) are set at the factory with #14 Red Tip needles
For finer fabrics, the #11 Blue Tip is good
If the #11 breaks, then try a #14 as they are a little heavier duty

When we thread the serger . the thread is still skipping

Are you using the corfect serger system needles in it? Most domestic sergers will take the regular domestic needle 130/705X but work best with a serger needle with has a groove down the front as well as the regular back scarf. This helps with the thread pickup from the looper by the needles. Sergers also run much faster than domestic sewing machines so the tolerances are very fine.

My Bernina came with ELX705 needles and it does run better with these in it. Also you need to use mid size needles, don't go too small, probably a size 80 or 90 is best.

Check out this page for some good info as the different serger manufacturers do have their own recommended needle sometimes. http://sewingmachine221sale.bizland.com/store/page78.html

Always refer to your manual (or ring the manufacturer if lost) to double check what needle they recommend be used in your serger, it does make a difference.

What is the needle system for Simplicity 804D serger?

For the both you listed (brother 925d and simplicity 804d) it is a "15x1" which is a standard home needle. Same size the fits almost all home sewing machines. Make sure to put the flat side of the needle to the back.

Let me know if you have any more questions,
Chris

What is the size of the needle used in the white superlock 1934D

This is a very highly regarded serger. Check out the reviews on http://sewing.patternreview.com if you're interested--but they are all extremely positive.

I also checked out the White Sewing Machine site--the three sergers they currently sell all use regular sewing machine needles.

Based on what I read on both sites, I believe your machine also uses regular sewing machine needles (not all sergers do, BTW). To be absolutely certain, you can call the White Help Line (l 800-331-3164, Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM, EST).

If your serger uses regular sewing machine needles, then the size of the needle depends on the type of fabric you're sewing. Sizes 8 to 10 for lightweight fabrics, 12 to 14 for medium weight fabrics, and 16 to 18 for heavy weight. Use ballpoint needles for knits, jeans needles for denim, and universal needles or sharps for woven fabrics.
