Go into control panel, click display, settings on the top right, set the color quality at max and the screen resolution also at max, click okay to save settings and monitor should adjust accordingly, if not set monitor to auto setup.

My toshiba satellite pro is having a slight problem with the screen. the screen sometimes changes and its very rough and unnormal

If I'm understanding your issue, it sounds like your resolution is not set to your preferred resolution. If you're using Windows Vista/7, you can right-click on your desktop and click on Screen Resolution to change it to however you would like to see it. If you are using Windows XP, right-click on the desktop and click on Properties. In the Properties window, click on the Settings tab to change the resolution.
I hope this helps and thanks for using Fixya!

I need to change the screen resolution and the slider bar under display will not move from 640 x 480 or 16 bit. I just had to reinstall Windows XP pro after it crashed and I didn't have the problem...

Hi Friend, As you have told me that you have reinstalled Windows on the system and after that you are not able to select the screen resolution. So, I believe that you might try updating the video drivers for the system that can fix the issue.

Screen resolution changes after rebooting computer

i) my wiser advice would be, just dont mess with this bug try, reload your OS or format your Windows Xp    or reload you OS Freshlly...

before doing this try to run antivirus, spyware scan by using an good security system(such as bit defender from microsoft, norton, avg.....) fully on your complete system(it may longer time but it is safe)

i'm sure that this problem will not persist after this try to purchase an antivirus program to avoid any problems of such type....

Thanking you

Window XP pro CD no working

Before contact Microsoft see if you are able to borrow a friends XP Pro disk, then try again with your product code.

if you are unable to borrow a disk or if your code still does not work then contact Microsoft for further advise.

Don't be tempted to download any Microsoft OS disk from the Internet, you simply will not be able to tell if it has been altered for nefarious reasons.

Screen flickers badly at the resolution i want to use and no option to alter refresh rate - any ideas?

I assume you're using windows XP or Vista ? The OS uses data from the monitor to tell it resolutions and refresh rates supported. If you get flicker and cannot alter the refresh rate, it is because the monitor will not supprt a fatsre refresh rate. Your only option, unfortunately, is to get a new monitor, or the cheaper option, use a different resolution.
