Your best bet is to have the tv serviced if it is under 12 months it will still be covered under warranty you can find your local authorized service center here.
http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/vServiceLocator?storeId=15001
If you need any other assistance let me know.
Thanks,
Lee

You can try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..

If you would like to attempt a DIY, you will need a service manual to guide you. You can find one here:http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

Good luck....

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

PANASONIC PLASMA MODEL TYST42PH20 TURN - clip_image001.jpg
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

But, I do know that Panasonic has a good customer service and that they
are interested in learning as much as possible about plasmas that have
failed. What they learn is sent back to the design engineers in the
factories so they can design the next sets even better. I know this
because I have visited many of their factories in person and I know
their policy and procedures for product development.

There is a site by another customer and with a ton of interesting
information, including service manual and comments about obtaining
service and such that may be very instructive for you to breeze
through. You will find it at:

    http://www.panny.tv/

As a general rule when a set goes into protection it is caused by a
short circuit condition of some kind that places an undue burden on the
power supplies. There is an error code that helps to guide a tech into
the problem area but you must have access to the manual and the codes
on how to read out the data.

Unfortunately, you must defeat the protection function in order to get
the set to come on long enough to chase down any basic information.

A whining noise is generally coming from a transformer or coil; leading
me to believe the problem area may be the power supply itself. But,
that is only a guess on my part.

Finally, I know of no particular problem with this set or any of the Panasonic
plasmas - other than they are NOT as reliable as CRT sets. This is
primarily because they haven't been around as long.

Panasonic sets are accepted as one of the very best among all plasma
manufacturers and I believe this is so. I know it is discouraging when
it is your set that has gone lame, but keep a smile. Things will get
    better.

I would like to know the response you get back from Panasonic.

    hope this may help;

    Regards,
    VOTIT

The 3 blinks is indicating the set has shut down due to the convergence circuits. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the parts and the CD with repair instructions.

Plasma tv screen goes black once you turn it on. Only sound

I have a panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV. When I watch TV programing I have no problems, or with the DVD input. But if I switch to another input, be it video game (PS2) or vcr the screen sometimes goes black and the red power lcd light next to the power switch flashes. Holding the power button in for a few seconds will shut down the tv. Then I can turn it back on and it may operate normally again for a undetermined period of time, before the screen goes black again. This never happened when new. The tv is about 1 year old. Any ideas on this problem? Thanks Ernie

Setting Color on TV

Hi Amber3,

I would recommend reading the information available on Panasonic's website. There are links for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) which may be helpful.

The manufacturer's website lists in their FAQ the Panasonic plasma TVs include an enhancement feature for blue and green colors, and instructs how to turn the feature off if needed. Visit http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/vSupportFAQDetails?idval=UCM_PRD_CNT_001993&pagetitle=FAQs+for+Plasma+TVs&contentType=FAQ#tv17 to see what Panasonic recommends.

Thank you,
Jason,

No picture but sound on panasonic plasma

Unplug the TV and disconnect any HDMI cables to the set. If the issue goes away there is a possibility that your HDMI source is causing the problem. Anything on the HDMI can cause odd problems with the TV since the serial data and serail clock lines are routed on HDMI. Those are the 2 commmunication lines used throught the TV for operation so anything HDMI that might load down one of those can cause issues.
