Hello,

There is a recovery already installed on your computer. I just hope the recovery hasn't been affected. This is why it is always advice-able to burn your recovery disk from your system into a disc because of situations like this.

Turn on your computer, at the start up screen, press F12 or F11, the system will show "Loading windows". This will make the system start up the recovery and you can proceed from there by following instructions.

If the recovery does not run when you press F11 or F12 at start up then it means the recovery software on your computer has been affected.

But all hope is not lost.

Look for someone (Maybe a family or friend) that uses the same HP g60, if the person hasn't burnt the recovery into a CD, you can do that and install it on your computer.

I hope you understand the above. Please let me know if you still need further assistance.

Good luck.

Where can I find a windows 7 recovery disk for HP h60 635dx? HP does not have them on the site

Thankfully any Windows recovery disk will work, you just need to determine if your operating system is 32 or 64bit
  • click on the Start menu, then right Click on "computer" in the right hand column and choose "Properties
  • Under the "System" section it should say "System type:" followed by a 32 or a 64

then you need to get a hold of a windows recovery cd: Best of Luck

HP PAVILION2945SE RECOVERY SOFTWARE VISTA 64 BIT

If the computer can still boot into Windows, you have the option to create discs using the HP recovery manager.
If the computer's hard drive is still functioning, press F11 on boot to enter the Recovery Manager interface.
If the hard drive has crashed, go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3747194#N509 and select recovery media to order the discs from HP.

I lost one of the recovery disc..how to get another one...

if u have OS installed on hard drive there is a separate partition on hard drive that hold OS files in a safe place in case u lose ur recovery disk u can get ur system reset to Factory Default without recovery disk

if u want to factory reset ur system without recovery disk u can do following but it is always safe to have recovery disk in store in case ur hard disk crashes and u are in trouble

Factory Reset W/o Recovery disk

Compaq/HP: When you first turn on the laptop and see the Compaq/HP logo screen, press the F11 key (you need to do this before the Compaq/HP logo disappears).

if u want to make recovery disk with ur running system u can do this

The recovery disc program prompts you at first startup, but if you ignored it, you can search for it in the start menu. Once it's running, it prompts you through step by step.

the program is called "recovery disc creation wizard" u can type rec in search and u can find it easily

for more detailed procedure read this it is for desktop but steps remains the same

Blue screen with rows of white lines (not BSOD) causing laptop crash

A blue screen generally indicates an operating system error or hard drive failure. Start by doing a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take, then reformat the hard drive and install a new operating system. If the hard drive won't format, or you have any issues during or after the install, then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced. You will need an operating system or recovery disc in order to do this. If this is a preloaded machine that didn't come with any discs, then you will need to acquire the disc.
