Try to turn off the pc. Then remove the cables and battery on the laptop and then press and hold the power button of your laptop for 8 secs. Then , reinsert the cables and battery of your laptop. Turn it on, and if there is power on the laptop and still you cannot boot to windows xp, consult your laptop provider to perform file back-up for you. The file back-up is dependent on its PC brand (DELL, HP).. they have different procedures on how to back up the files for it..
