Question about Toshiba Satellite Pro S300-EZ2502 (4400 mAh)

Open Question

Good morning When booting a toshiba satellite Pro S300-EZ2502, i've got the message "RTC Battery is low or CMOS checksum is inconsistent, and when pressing F1, i enter BIOS, change date, save BIOS and exit, but the laptop doesn't continue booting but it powers off. When restarting it, the same procedure is repeated, like it doesn't save anything to BIOS. Thanks for your help

This is the REAL TIME CLOCK power supply inside your laptop. It maintains the system configuration and clock/calendar. Do not try to replace this yourself unless you are experienced, you could lose everything on the system and worse still these batteries can explode!! Connect the AC adaptor and let it charge for at least 24hrs. Press F2 to enter the bios. Set correct time and date If it Persists take it to a dealer to be replaced

Your RTC battery or CMOS battery is either dead or too low to keep the correct settings, windows will not operate correctly without the proper date and time kept. This battery has to be replaced for your system to operate. Below is the service manual that will advise you of the proper procedure to replace the battery. Once the battery is replaced, reboot the laptop, go to the BIOS screen and reset the date and time, then reboot as normal. In the case of your particular laptop, the laptop has to be disassembled down to the lower case and motherboard. The included service manual has the procedure for this.

If it is the hard drive/system password, there is nothing you can do except copy your data with another PC, re formatting the drive and reinstalling all of your programmes. Then you can put your data back in.

I have a toshiba g25 av513 when it the power button is pressed a message shows up on the screen stating RTC battery is low or CMOS checksum is inconsistent. the laptop is plugged in

Hi. This is likely due to a small watch battery inside the machine (called the CMOS battery) being dead. Replacing it usually requires the tools and skill of a qualified technician.
