You have a common Xbox 360 malfunction problem, which I experienced just about a month ago. And it is the 360, not the harddrive or the TV, just FYI
All's you can do is either:
A. The Towel Trick (Which only works about 5 days at a time, from personal expierence, and gets very annoying to constantly use) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avWs4-wD15w
or
B. Send it in to Microsoft (No Harddrive, or they'll take it away - just the main console)
Turn it on put in gaylo 3 and let it sit for a bit if not then maybe the game is scratched or look at the circle in the middle of the game and see if theres a crack if there is you might wanna buy a new game

Halo 3 is buggy disk , I have 2 brand new copys of halo 3 for testing repaired drives
and found that of all the 360 I repair, benq drives will read 99% of the time the hitachi
seem too slow on the seek time to get a
lock/read resulting in a dirty disk error.
Halo 3 does not play on all 360
its just a picky disk .There seem to
be two xboxs thoes that will load halo 3
and thoes that will not.
its due to the faulty convergence. the stk convergence ic on the main board which controls the picture alignment is faulty and needs to be replaced to solve this problem.any tv technician will do it for you at a very negligible cost. nothing to worry.thanks.
Sounds like you are suffering the dreaded overheating Xbox 360 syndrome.
Do a quick search on Google and you will come up with a lot of pages and info about this problem.
There are methods involving wrapping a towel around the unit etc.
Also keep an eye on your power brick. Make sure it dosn't overheat.
Personally because I live in Australia and it's always hot here, alot of 360 owners have taken them apart and added in fans to help the cooling.
Your system is headed for the dreaded red ring w/ three red rings. My system started doing the same thing just before this happend. If you have a service plan with it i would suggest returning it and getting a new one.
I tried all the there little tricks as well deleted everything off my harddrive all that good stuff i think it made mine worse. Cuz after all that i turned it back on and bam three red lights and no picture or sound.
this sounds like the e74 error ,these dots will make the screen fuzzy like cod 4 and 5 its the video chip thats near the av cable slot need service and can result to one ring of death aka e74 error.
