Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

My washing machine is leaking from the filter at the bottom left of the machine. I have taken the drain pump off and checked the waste pipe (this is clear. I think I have narrowed it down to either the drain pump itself, or the filter not seated correctly. Any ideas?????????

Hi there,
It sounds like the shaft seal on the pump itself is worne out, between the impeller and the electric motor. I have replaced a few in my time. If you are sure the filter is seating properly then I think its the pump. i hope this helps you.

Ant

Water fills up in the tub but won't drain from the washer.

Filter may be blocked. Be careful taking it out, you will get flooded. Make sure you have something to collect the water as it rushes out. Also check the main drain isn't blocked. If you know how, unplug the rubber waste pipe at the back of machine (not from the bottom of machine but from where it connects to main drain) and see if the machine empties by running spin cycle. If water comes out of pipe then it's the main drain....if not it's either the pump or filter.

I have a Bosch washer that doesn't drain, i changed the pump and it still doesn't drain. Could the pressure switch be the problem. If not what can I do? Bosch 800 series

Open filter go to back of machine & clean the end of grey waste pipe blow into end of pipe, if u feel no restriction when blowing their is no blockage next tilt machine backwards at 45 degree angle against wall the u can look under washing check large black waste water pipe between bottom of drum and water pump for possible blockage make sure u isolate machine from electrical supply first hope this helps

Water wont empty from my machine

Hi if your beko WME7247W washing machine wont drain or has a spin problem then you have to check the carbon brushes first.

Also check all waste pipes are clear and inspect the pump I have included this video below.

At our website I am doing self diagnostic videos on these beko's as we speak so all tutorials will be in this link below
How to replace Beko Washing Machine Motor Carbon Brushes
you might find this test video helpful but only do it if you have checked the motor

It is spinning but not pumping out water

Drainage problems can be caused by:
a) Blocked Filter chamber
b) Blocked Sump
c) Blocked Drain Pipe
d) Failed Pump

You can check the sump and drain pipe are not blocked by disconnecting the drain pipe from the undersink trap or waste pipe and lowering to a bowl on the floor. The water should drain out into this bowl under gravity if there are no blockages. If this drains then you can should check the filter chamber if it is accessible on your washing machine (not all are). I would recommend you unplug the machine or take the fuse out of the switched socket before doing this. Drain the drum as above before doing this or you will get a gush of water coming out. You will usually have to remove a cover from the bottom of your machine to get to the filter chamber and twist it ant-clockwise to unscrew it. Check for any coins buttons etc trapped in there. If there is nothing there check the impeller will turn relatively easily by hand. If you still can't find the problem you might have a faield pump and I would recommend contacting an engineer.

My washing machine LG WD1238C keeps showing error message OE hose is not blocked or filter blocked does not finish any cycle or work correctly

This sounds like a blockage in the small hose connected to the waste pump. Take the lid off and find the waste pump down near the bottom of the machine below the drum, then remove any one of the hoses connected to the waste pump and check inside the pump to make sure the fan can spin using your fingures, maybe a small kids sock or similar jammed in there, if nothing in the pump check both pipes on the waste pump

Bosch 1200 washing machine will not drain the water ??

The filter or pump is probably blocked, have you tried cleaning it out.

Sometimes if the outlet hose is blocked or kinked this can also be the cause.

THE WASH REACCHES DRAIN AND SPIN STOPS THEN ENDS CYCLE

pump is blocked check your filter at the front some have a small drainage tube there to remove the water. failing that tilt back machine slighty open door and remove with a jug, remove filter uscrew and pull and check for foriegn objects i.e coins screws, whilst tilted back squeeze the two rubber tubes to the pump to make sure they are clear or unclip if need be MAKE SURE POWERS OFF lay some towels down sit machine back down slowly there will be excess water and with filter out run machine SPIN ONLY if it does you've solved your problem also check your waste and outlet pipe your waste could be pushed too far down the outlet pipe 6" is adequate enough.good luck

F18 Error

the error is caused by a blockage in the pump you need to drain the washer using the black tube near the pump drain or by unscrewing the pump cover next to it on excel 8kg washer these are at bottom right of machine. when all water out remove pump cover that you loosened to get water out then check for blockages inside. the pump has a device inside that should move round freely remove all debris replace and try to drain using drain cycle this will finish and hey presto back to normal!!
