You can repair your device using the recovery function of it. Unfortunately all your media content will be disappeared after this repair process. How to do it can be studied using this link:

Hi bysvraju...
Try this method...
************************
Go to Device Manager
To get to Device Manager you will:
Right click on My Computer>Properties>click the Hardware Tab>Device Manager.
After you are in Device Manager look for your MP3 player or Unit.
Here you should see no "Yellow" exclamation points.
If you do they they are telling you that you have a device conflict.
If you currnetly have your unit plugged in, you may notice the "unknown device" which would be your Player or Unit.
If you unit has an exclamation point by it, then you will need to click on it and delete it.
After you remove all devices with conflicts then click on refresh and search again for your MP3 player/Device.
The computer should install your device this time and solve your problem with connection of the MP3 player/Device.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

Problems with Philips GoGear Vibe MP3 audio video players.

At times you'll find some problems with your GoGear player. Like its freeze, displays "file system error", or hung up on updating 99% or your computer not recognizing it. Most of these problems could be solved with few simple steps. <br /> <br /> Firstly, I'd suggest that you do a soft reset of your player. You will find the reset button next to the 'power on' button on the side of the player. Please hold the Reset button using a pen tip or other sharp object for 10 seconds. Now turn it on. <br /> <br /> If that doesn't work, you can format the player. Provided its recognized by the computer. Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents. Here is how to do this:<br /> <br /> Connect your GoGear player to your PC. On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format". Disconnect it once the format is complete.<br /> <br /> If that doesn't work, you can repair the player. To repair it you must have the software that came with the player or you can download it from the Philips suppot site. <a href="http://www.philips.com/support/">WWW.philips.com/support/</a>. Players that start with SA1xxxx uses Device manager and the Players that start with SA2xxx uses Philips Songbird. <br /> <br /> Here is how to Repair your GoGear MP3 player using Device Manager:<br /> <br /> Launch Device Manager and click the Tool menu and select "Repair my Philips GoGear", then follow the instructions to perform the repair process. <br /> <br /> Here is how to Repair your GoGear MP3 player using Philips Songbird:<br /> <br /> Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair my Philips GoGear" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process. <br /> <br /> *Contents may be removed by using repair and format functions. Need to reset phillips gogear 2GB SA2627/37 as it displays PHILLIPS on start up & shuts down. On connecting to PC, it displays OK TO DISCONNECT and doesnt even recognized by PC as USB device.

Your player might hang up. Use a pen tip or other sharp object to insert the RESET hole gently on the side of the player and connect it again to your PC.

If it is still not recognized, your player may be at fault. Try the Philips Device Manager software and repair device with it.
Contents will be removed by using the repair function.
How to do it is described on the manufacturer's web site here:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=US&mid=Link_FAQs&view=aa12_view_partial.html&session=20110504030502_93.189.114.198&list=aa12_list_partial.html&slg=AEN&ctn=SA2627/37&dct=FAQ&refnr=0073454&faqview=1

MY PHILIPS GOGEAR STARTS UP AND FREEZES AND JUST DISPLAY A MESSEGE SAYING (WAIT FOR USB CONNECTION) CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

I found this on page 55 of my owner's manual.
My GoGear MP3 Player was frozen, wasn't being
recognized by my computer and this worked for me.

Follow these steps exactly:

1 Reset your player first by inserting a pin or sharp
object into the reset hole at the back of the player.
2 Launch Philips Device Manager from Start > Programs >
Philips Device Manager. Select the Repair Tab.
3 While pressing the Vol + on your device, connect it
to the PC.
4 Confirm Yes when you see the screen , you can release
the Vol + now.
5 Choose your device name (SA60xx) in the box.
6 After the repair completes , click OK and continue using
your player as usual.

Device manager wont detect my gogear HDD1630/17 even though i recently updated the software and driver, also my device is frozen on "Please connect player to pc". I can't even get it back to the menu...

I was experiencing this similar problem, and from my research so were alot of other people, what finally worked for me was this:

  • Update all the software on your computer via Phillips site
  • Open the Philips Device Manager
  • With the device connected and the 'connected to pc' screen showing on the GoGear, do a 'soft reset' by holding the Power Off + Volume Up buttons for a few seconds
  • As soon as the device restarts itself, hold the Volume Down button, the computer should now recognize the GoGear
  • Follow the onscreen directions to Repair the device
  • Thank the intarwebs.
