Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Hi! My Hama 2000 doesn't work. Two channels are making these noises. What could it be? I have been inside it, and it doesn't seem to be the cables. I know this isn't something I should try to fix myself, but if its possible, I'd like to try. It sounds like there is overdrive, even when the volum is very low (input and output) . Inside the sm-2000 these two channels share the same fader for volume, Line in and phono in. So Im guessing it somewhere there. If there is a wiring diagram of it, I could have been more specific. Can you help?:) Hama sm-2000

SOURCE: Left Channel not working

Not unless youve had solid state trouble shooting experience and experience soldering and unsoldering. If you havent, you should take the unit to a repair shop, as there are no user replaceable parts inside this unit. Your problem is probably the output IC or associated componet. Good Luck

SOURCE: Sony CMT CP1 Right hand speaker output very noisy, humming, crackling

It sounds to me like you both are having a problem with a capacitor going bad. some capacitors act as a noise filter and it sounds like you both have a bad one. If you are any good with a volt-ohm meter that reads capacitors you should check them to make sure they are at their proper values which will be posted on the capacitor. then replace it. if you dont know how to use a v-o meter then take it to a shop and have them replace it

SOURCE: low volume on some channels

Well, some TV stations do broadcast at different volume levels. This is very noticeable when watching a TV show and the volume seems normal and then when a commercial comes on, the volume is very loud. They do this to get you to pay attention to the commercial. Another problem might be that you are adjusting volume from both your TV and your cable box. What you should do is make sure your cable box is set to "FIXED VOLUME" and then just adjust your TV volume. Fixed volume will have the cable box output only one volume level, letting the TV do the adjustment. Just go through your cable box setting and look in the audio settings. Hope This helps...

Channel Scan on my Philips 26" TV only finds the local channels.

Hi.

you should go into your tv's setup menu and go to the tuner settings and make sure it is set to CATV (cable tv) and not Antenna/Air also splitting a cable to many times can cause the signal to weaken and gain a lot of noise/distortion that could be an issue that can only be solved by having the company come to the house and do a test ALSO when your in the tuner menu in under your tv's setup menu try adding a non local channel manualy and then see if the tv will tune to it, if so then you might have to add them manually at the worst... my guess is that it is not set to CATV/cable tv hope this helps and if not i hope someone else can.

I loose internet connection with HAMA Wireless LAN Router

Try changing the channel that the router uses. This will be a setting in the GUI. I have a Netgear wireless router and if I let the router choose the channel to use, it always chooses the same channel that my cordless phone uses so whenever I use the cordless phone, I get kicked off. You can also try updating the firmware on the router but I'd bet trying a different channel(s) will work.
