How to delete all pics from dmc-lz3

If the pictures are on a memory card, format the card. This should be done every time you finish downloading your pictures to a computer. FixYa is full of people asking how to salvage pictures from a card that hadn't been formatted recently.

If the pictures are in the camera's internal memory, format it.

Either way, while in playback mode press MENU/SET to display the menu, then use cursor-up/down to select [FORMAT]. Full instructions are in the "[FORMAT]" section of the manual (page 78 in my copy). If you need a copy of the manual, you can download one from the manufacturer's web site at

My Panasonic DMC-LZ3 camera appears to have locked up

Make sure the scene mode dial is correctly "clicked" into a choice. You could also try this...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

When I download the pictures to my computer they get all messed up. Some of them get cut in half or cropped into other pictures. They look fine in playback mode but not on the computer

Here's what I would do. Plug your card into a card reader and the other end into a USB port on your computer. Open the files, select them, and drag and drop them into a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can view them as a slide show or import them to whatever program you want. Here's my card reader. It's only $13 at WAlmart. 81e4be2.jpg

I have a panasonic lumix DMC-LZ7 and never had this problem before but when i hooked the camera up to my computer to import the photos it always said connecting with an arrow on a wavy line and now it says...

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

After installation of cd rom computer doesn't recognize camera

The camera shouldn't need any drives for the camera.
You should just be able to plug in the camera in playback mode and the "removable drive" will appear.
Check "my computer" and see if an extra drive appears when camera plugged in.
If not then the USB socket can become damaged sometimes.

In this case, I would recommend getting a external SD card reader as they are cheaper than getting the camera fixed and they are more reliable.
Cheers.

Can not import photos

Switch the camera on and ensure it is in the upload mode then using the supplied cord you should plug it into a USB port on the body of the computer. Windows[if 2000/XP] will put up the camera/scan wizard- take it from there. What are you not doing?
