You can get a FRESH belt kit from here. Cost you $10 plus some post. There is a new pinch roller listed against this old girl also could be worth replacing at the same time when you service the deck.

I have used the MCM belt 42-3030 to fix these decks- I just finished one last night with that belt. I have been repairing these decks for 40 years so far and the X1000R will need more than just a belt.
They have some parts that need lubrication and some electronic parts that need replacing I have found on many machines. The Flywheel should be removed and oil placed in the bearings for proper function. The speed has to be calibrated when you change belts or do any work on the unit- How do I know this? Is the Capstan Motor turning? This is the motor in contact with the belt. Two things can cause this- one is the sensor arms being so far off they do not turn on the motor the other is that the motor is abused and burned up from the last sticky belt. Motors from Teac are $150 but you should have a Technician look at it first. Sometimes the motors can be reconditioned and work like new- not if they are burned up and cracked parts in them though.

You are better off E mailing them as there are only two people there and they can take a long time at long distance rates to answer the phone. Also the part number of the belt is available on any pdf manual but the other places like Fredd Marrs or MCM will not know what that is. You might be faster to get one from Marrs Communication as they react much faster than Teac and have the right belt.

Getting belts for TEAC W-890R. I'm currently sitting here a home with a DEAD TEAC A-350 Cassette Deck -- DEAD because I was told you can get belts for it (I have since found out that is is NOT true and...

That is the state of conditions at Teac and they don't care about tape customer anymore. If you need belts for any unit it is simple to find the belt kit at Marrs Communications. They do not have he cheapest prices bu the you don't know what size you need and Fred took time to find his out. If you want to do it the other way you download a copy of the PRB cross reference manual and look up the belt type that goes into your deck. The you go to Ken's Electronics and order the belts online. This does not come with instruction of how to put them in. In my many years as a Technician working on all kinds of tape decks I have never seen an instruction to put belts in a machine- it is assumed that if you can not figure this out that you probably do not belong in the machine. In cases where belts are not in place sometimes the parts layout diagram can help you determine how they go in.

RUBBER DRIVE BELT FOR A360 FOR TEAC CASSETTE DECK

Drive belts on tape decks are mostly universal. You only need to measure the diameter of each belt in mm and then enter the result in Google as "Cassette drive belt ??mm".

Broken belt on Teac X7 Dual Capstan Drive tape deck

I just worked on one of those the other day. The unit needs other maintenance besides the belt- Flywheels need to removed and oiled and capstan shafts inspected and cleaned- I don't know how many ask me how to put in belts and then the unit end up at my shop because there are a lot other factors involved in the service of this deck. The last X7 I worked on needed both motors reconditioned but it worked great after that.

Just measure the diameter in MM and put the result into google with the words 'cassette drive belt'. Belts are not maker specfic.

Where can I buy a Capstan drive belt for a Teac A-4010 tape recorder??

Go to a consumer electronics repair shop, preferably an old mom&pop op and they will have what you need. If not they can order it for you when they do stocking and save you shipping money from any internet company. I used to work at one is how I know. Have a good one

Could be a worn out belt? The cassette loads it the drive down too much. Hence why it turns with no tape.

Tapes bias for Teac X-1000R

If you can get a hold of EE tape, that stuff provides the best frequency response on a X-1000R. EE is pretty hard to find at a good price, so my second choice is Maxell UD.

Teac A-21 Stereo Cassette Tape Deck turns un, but won't play cassette tapes...

very likely that the drive belt has broken. I have fixed a TEAC myself using a large O-Ring from a hardware store (I know I was lucky to find a very close match). Open the unit and find the broken belt and take it to a hardware store to "size up" a replacement. Use the opportunity to oil the gear shafts and clean the rubber pinch roller.
