The belt do not need any alignment as the pulley's must be in-line and all you need to check for is that there is no shift on the motor mountings or the main pulley so that the belt is off line.
If not having the same type and size of the belt is most important.

I just replaced belt on maytag Neptune but it keeps coming off. Any suggestions?

Hello Mathew, I only have a guess. I would make sure the pulleys that the belt runs on are aligned with each other. If a pulley becomes out of alignment , it could make the belt ride out of the groove and derail. Also check to see if the belt tensioner is working properly. A loose belt can slip off the pulley.

Drive belt comes off every off so often

Please check and see the alignment of the pulley and belt, Check for friction of the drive shaft which can cause the belt to slip over.

The belt on my hotpoint aquarious wma33 keeps coming off

Belt is not adjusted tight enough when being fitted, if no adjustment can be made by moving the motor then the belt may be stretched and will need replacing, the drum bearings may be faulty and causing the pulley to be out of alignment, water may be getting on to belt causing it to slip off.

Why does my belt keep coming off

It might not be on tight enough, adjust tension if you can. There should be a slight ping in the belt but still be able to give it a slight twist.
If you can't adjust, motor does'nt allow adjustment, your belt may be stretched and need replacing.
Or something may be causing alignment issues. Worn bearings can cause a pulley to be out of alignment and allow the belt to slip off.

Check the alignment of the pulleys, If they are not perfectly aligned the belt will be thrown off at high speed. Also check that the axles are parallel to each other because if a pulley rides higher on one side the belt will ride towards the higher point and be thrown off the pulley.

i would say you have a warped main pulley, run the machine in spin, watch it early to detect any wobling in the belt should be no sideway movement. also check main pulley is tight with no lateral wobling.

Fitting new belt

Remove top cover and lower rear panel of washer
With some help, tilt washer forward, and fit belt round motor pulley first, slowly ease belt onto drum pulley and feed slowly round, turning pulley at same time, it will be very tight, so watch your fingers, you can align the belt after it is fitted. Please rate my solution.
Thanks.
