Our AC unit is on inside the house but blowing hot air. Outside unit is not on. My husband tried to turn the fan blades on the OS unit and it won't turn. Is the fan motor gone?

It is a strong possibility. Use some oil on the motor.34a4ac9.jpgIt might be the contactorace24b7.jpg
Before he goes messing with anything inside the unit he needs to kill the power. It may be the capacitor, look for a swollen cap45d0615.jpg06e208f.jpg

Is it blowing out hot air? If so, unit could be wired backwards or you are having problems with reversing valve

Ac blowing breaker

The unit will draw more current when hot. Check rating of the breaker against the rating recommended by the manufacturer.

Ac BLOWING HOT AIR INSTEAD OF COLD. All of a sudden my AC started blowing hot air instead of cold. It is set on cool.

Check to see if your outside unit is running. If not, check the breaker. If it is running you may have an issue with the reversing valve. It looks like three lines coming out of the top and one on the bottom. Trace the wires back to see that they are tight and secure. Of course, TURN OFF THE POWER first. good luck.

Lennox air conditioner is blowing hot air

Check your coils for ice, check your breaker and fuses for condensing unit, and is your condensing fan running? If not, you either have a bad fan motor or capicitor. After you hit the button, and wait for it to time out, (you should hear a click) take a butter knife, and spin the fan if it is not moving. If the fan start spinning by itself after your assistance, you have a bad capacitor
