You need a wireless router.
Or you go to a public place that says "Wi-Fi"

On your psp,

  • go to settings, "network settings", "infrastructure mode".
  • Go to "New Connection".
  • press the left directional button and select "Scan".
  • Select the name of the network that you will connect to.
  • If it has any security, you will be asked to provide it on the next screen.
note: use the on-screen keyboard as you would a phone keypad.
  • Save the settings (keep pressing right until the last page)
  • Test the connection
If it succeeds, you are now ready to go to the "internet borwser" under "Network"

If it doesnt, you entered a wrong password; check your password. Or you may be far from the AP. move closer to the Router.

Hope this helps

My ssid says my Security says not supported .

WEP and WPA are the only types of Wireless Security supported on the PSP. If you have WEP2 or anything else on your wireless network, the PSP will not support it. You can change your wireless router's security to WEP if you want the PSP to connect to it.

Check the following page at Sony for more information:

    http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/?a_id=24

Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) are security encryption protocols to provide secure wireless (Wi-Fi). These are common on most wireless access points available. You will need to contact the manufacturer of your wireless access point to determine which will work best for you when setting up your wireless network. Both of these protocols are supported by the PSP system and you will need to choose which protocol your wireless network has been configured with in order for the PSP to connect to your network.

    Hello

To connect your PSP to the Internet, you must manually configure the WiFi settings for your device. The PSP will not automatically search for and connect to available wireless

Turn on your PSP by moving the power button on the right-hand side of the console in an upward motion. Under the console's main screen, go to the "Settings" icon. This is the first icon listed and is farthest to the left. From the drop-down menu, choose the "Network Settings" option at the end of the list.

Select "Infrastructure Mode" and press the "X" button. Select the "New Connection" option to add a wireless connection to your PSP. Choose the "Scan" option to instruct your PSP to search for accessible wireless connections in your area.

Select a wireless connection from the connections your PSP is able to access. Confirm the name of the network and press the right arrow button. Confirm the security encryption settings for the connection. In most cases, the PSP will determine the network's encryption automatically. Enter the wireless connection's password if the network is secured.

Name your new wireless connection so that you will be able to identify it in the future and save your settings. Run a test connection to ensure you are able to connect to the Internet through the wireless network.

Press your PSP's "Home" button at the bottom left-hand side of the console. Move your cursor to the right to find the "Network" icon. Select the "Internet Browser" option from the drop-down menu. Press the up directional arrow and press "X" to enter a web address into the browser. Once you enter a web address, your PSP will automatically connect to the Internet using the WiFi connection you set up previously.

Where do u find the aoss access point? what is it

You can find this on your wireless router. Not all router support AOSS. If you do not know if your router support AOSS you can use the wLAN connection on your PSP.

You can go here to help you connect to your wireless router.

My psp will not let me get online.

this may or may not help, but do you have a router, wireless internet, or a laptop? you have to have access to the enternet from another source. yes you can get online with a psp but, you have to have a way to log on. if you have a laptop, you have access on ur psp (as long as the laptops on) because you have wireless internet on the laptop. so in other words no computer built onto the psp itself. you can get a router that plugs in the USB port on ur computer (around $29. not very expensive)

AOSS is a wireless solution made by www.buffalotech.com. Most new wireless routers/access points has this capability. AOSS is on the wireless router/access point and not on the PSP.

AOSS will automagically determines and configures the connection of a PSP to a wireless access point by pressing the AOSS button on the wireless access point.
