After a defrost cycle the ice around the evaporator melts, that water goes out and lands in a tray under the refrigerator. But sometimes the tube gets clogged and water spills inside the freezer and if enough water accumulates, it will make it to the floor. To fix this problem look for a small hole inside the refrigerator and open it up using a can of compressed air. Hope this helps

How do I stop freezer from leaking water

A drain plug is a small hole inside your fridge to allow for moisture to escape. The reason its leaking water is because its not cooling the water to ice or its defrosting the ice to water. make sure the door closes shut and turn it up a bit as it has been very hot recently

What to do the ice bridge is too thick

First De-Frost. The same process can be speeded up by opening the Fridge Doors, remove the electric plug from the socket(i.e. switching off power) and wait for all ice to melt, drain the residual water and Re-Start the Fridge.
Regular defrosting(say Once in 10 days) will ensure there is no ice built-up!

How do I defrost the unit?

You give little to go on as to what you have. Self-defrosting? Freezer/refrigerator combo?

Assuming you have an old-style, non-defrosting freezer, the only way to do it properly is to empty it and turn it off until the ice melts. Open the door(s) and surround the base (floor) with towels to catch the water.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE ANYTHING HARD OR SHARP TO REMOVE THE ICE!!! The rule is to use nothing sharper than a Q-tip.

When the ice is soft, a plastic mallet may help in knocking the ice free, but gently... very gently.

If you cause a leak in the (probably aluminum) evaporator, have enough money budgeted to replace the machine. Repair costs would exceed the replacement cost in most cases.

When done defrosting, re-start the unit and let it run for 24 hours to ensure that the unit can attain temperature... not doing this puts your frozen product at risk.

After defrosting the freezer it will not cool

Don't panic about the hot sides of the freezer. It is quite common on all the freezer (make/model).

After defrosting, your removing the full temerature out of the system. It will take atleast 30 ~ 60 mins to come back to set temperature. This again depends on the load inside.

Freezer "leaking" cold water on floor

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

ca. 2010 GE fridge with Samsung ice maker. I have to hold the reset on the icemaker every few days to keep making ice or it quits. What's the fix? When it works, there's a loud popping every 3 seconds for about 2 minutes, then a few minutes later ice harvests into the bin. With my hand against the outside of the fridge next to the icemaker, I can literally feel each pop. I originally thought it was the ice release heater failing that caused cubes to pop loose hard, but I couldn't find anything wrong electronically when I took things apart and examined the board and connections in the icemaker. I may have missed something mechanically that's causing some part to flex and then suddenly give against the wall inside every 3 secs as the clock cycles through the beginning of a harvest? What might that be? But after reassembly it now has the added feature of harvesting a few times and then stopping altogether. We run flat out of ice if I forget to press and hold the reset button for 10 secs. every few days. Apparently the clock is cycling incompletely or something now. Could a cog be missing/broken/out of alignment in the clockworks, such that when it gets so far along it slips, but can be reset? How about the lift arm? Could it be out of position inside such that something it's connected to isn't properly repositioning when the arm drops back down? Or could all of this be related to a faulty control board elsewhere in the fridge?
