Its the mainboard but chances are its ok and just needs flashing.

1.) locate the battery on the man board
2.) remove it
3.) remove the memory module
4.) press and hold the power button for 10 seconds
5.) replace the memory
6.) replace the battery
7.) turn it on and load the default settings for the bios.

if the above fails
1.) locate the battery on the man board
2.) remove it
3.) remove the memory module, remove the heat sink, remove the processor
4.) press and hold the power button for 10 seconds
5.) replace processor and heat sink, replace the memory
6.) replace the battery
7.) turn it on and load the default settings for the bios.

try that and let me know how it turns out, I'm 90% sure it will fix your problem, ps remember to unplug it first.

If your computer powers up (the fans turn on) but the monitor screen stays dark and /or the operating system does not load, Some component inside or attached to your personal computer has failed. These include the monitor, power supply, CPU, motherboard, hard drive, display adaptor, memory etc. If you have the required tools and test equipment , and you understand how these components work you can test them and determined which component has failed. Otherwise, you need to have a computer technician determine what your problem is.
I'm sorry that I can't help you more, but repairing computers is similar to repairing automobiles . If my car will "turn over" when I turn the key on but will not start, I could replace the fuel filter, fuel pump, coil, ignition computer etc. until I found the problem. However, I don't have the parts or tools or the test equipment to test the parts with, and I don't want to a guess at what part has failed and spend money buying replacement parts which may or may not solve the problem. I take the car to my mechanic for repair.

Amd athlon ii x3 450 best compitible mother board

asus makes the Best mainboards in my opinion, All AM3 boards. You get what you pay for so it's worth spending a bit more to get a good mainboard.

Example: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 is a really good option, however I myself would pair this mainboard with a AMD Phenom 2. Though your X3 450 will work well in this mainboard too.
The best compatible mainboard would be the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula or Extreme edtion, however your CPU will be a bottle neck in the system.
The ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 is really good looking and it performs really well too.

You could go for an ASUS 785/790/870/880/890 North Bridge chipset AM3 Socket.
You could even purchase an AM3+ mainboard that will support AMD's new Phenom module CPU's.
Go to www.asus.com and check out the AMD mainboard range that they produce.

Take care!

What motherboard will replace a msi k7t turbo2?

This is an obsolete part; as such, you will have a hard time finding it at any retailer, whether brick and mortar or online. However, all hope is not lost-try E-bay

http://computers.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=socket+a&_sacat=1244&_trksid=m270&_dmpt=Motherboards&_odkw=&_osacat=1244

You will have to look for a board that supports S-Dram memory, because that is what your MSI K7T Turbo2 uses.

My advice would be to skip this entirely; I would replace the whole board/CPU setup, and pick up some memory. You can get an Athlon II quad core and mobo for $165.98 USD (Asus /AMD). Pick up 2 GB of Kingston DDR3 RAM for $56

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134790

and you essentially have a whole new system for $222

Just my opinion on this-I don't think that spending the amount of cash you would have to in order to replace an obsolete board is worth it.

You might try this, instead:
AMD Athlon II x2 Regor (2.8 Ghz, dual core) @ 56.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103688

ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD mobo @ 59.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148305

Total $174.97 + shipping USD

Given you 3 ways to go and my advice-good luck!!

Crucial 2 GB Ballistix 240 pin DDR3 1600 Memory for $57.99

Hello again, Upgrading CPU's

Your board supports socket AM2 CPUs the fastest of which is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ dual-core processor at 3.1 GHz.

Your motherboard does not accept socket AM3 CPUs.

E2180 Vs Athlon 64 X2 5000+

depends on what you plan to do with the cpu amd are good but a 3200 may only run @ 1.8 to 3.2 ghz depending while a intel 3200 will run 3.2 ghz.
I believe intel are more stable & run cooler than AMD but AMD benchmarks on Games better but run hotter (so get a good cooling fan & heatsink both pentium / celeron d & intel dou / dual core / core 2 dou and amd x2 have 2 cores (but watch your front side bus and cache the higher the better but the more $ also) then You need a good stable mobo that supports the chip you get (I preffer asus & msi for Gamers and biostar / msi for home users)
