Hello, i am trying to fix my friend's laptop. he has a toshiba satellite a215 s5815. im thinking that vista may be corrupt. it will not boot to windows. the STOP error says that the volume will not mount. i would have repair installed windows but his optical drive is broken. i want to just wipe it clean using the recovery partition but i cannot figure out how to access it. can you offer me any advice? thank you

Go to the toshiba website http://support.toshiba.com/support/driversResults?freeText=1909312 and search for your particular wireless card, if your not sure which you can click on the start button and search for Device Manager, then in Network adapters you will see which one is installed on your system.
you have to dis assemble the notebook and remove the prom battery looks like a watch battery for about 2mins re-install boot up and ur bios password is reset
Just use "Atheros 802.11a/b/g,b/g Mini-PCI/PCIe Driver v5.3.0.67 or later for Windows XP"and get the problem solved.You can either download the driver from Atheros site or search for that on google.I am using Windows XP Pro with SP3 on the same mechine and the wireless is working fine.In case of any problem you can contact me on [email protected].
