What should I do if my brand new Fasco pneumatic upholstery stapler is leaking air through the tail end...not the hose, but the two holes in the handle? Any suggestions?

Hi Anonymus,

What's happened if the driver blade has stopped in mid stroke, the air will escape. Quickest was 'round this is to take the airline off the tool, then find some scrap wood, place the tool on it as though you're firing it, and in THIS ORDER... pull the trigger and re-connect the airline at the same time. This usually sorts this out. Regardless of the tool make and model this will happen to most users sometime....

Stapler will not build pressure

did you oil it? It is an oil free, i oiled mine and that happened. i ended up taking it apart and clean out the cylinder , it is easy to do..just use a clean rag no cleaner it might ruin the seals

Stapler losing air around trigger is this a o ring problem?

The problem is most likely the trigger valve. P/N FA205BA1 any Bostitch dealer should be able to get it for you. Its a complete cartridge that slids into the gun frame, unfortunatly you can't just change the o-rings.

I have a Bostitch SB-150SX pneumatic stapler. It's about 5 yrs old. I've been using it for the last couple of days without any trouble. Then yesterday, it would not shoot. When I pull the trigger air...

Are you using air-tool oil before each use? Water or debris coming through the air hose can cause like problems. Try installing an in-line filter. Hope this helps!

I have a bostitch ridge runner that leaks air badly out of the trigger and wondering how to take out the plastic trigger in the gun. Also what would be the cause of the air leak

The air leak can be one of a few things. FIrst make sure that you have added some pneumatic oil to the air stream. This will lubricate the o-rings and make a tight seal. If that fails to resolve it, repalce the o-rings. (kits available for around $20). Next, woul dbe the trigger assembly itself. These triggers wear over time and are easily replaced.

See the website below for parts and a good diagram of the construction of the gun. You should be able to replace the parts by following the diagrams.

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bostitch-parts-c-29443.html?gclid=CO6tkb2y6KICFciA5QodOlL9xg

Please note that the exactmodel number is required to get hte correct diagram.

Hope this helps,
Dan

Leaking air when trigger is depressed

This is an indication of a defective seal. Try adding a little pneumatic oil to the gun and triggering it a few times. Sometimes all it is is a small leak in the o-ring because of a lack of lubrication. If not, then try replacing the o-rings (kit available for around $20). The next possibility is the trigger itself. I have replaced the trigger assembly on mine once thus far.

Good luck,
Dan

Bostitch stapler T40S2 has air leak at trigger. I need repair instructions to replace orings

Go to the Stanley Bostitch website. Click on schematics & parts. Find your model number in the drop down list. There is a list of parts and pricing. Just above the parts is a link for the schematic. Honestly, I worked on these things for years. It is best to replace the entire trigger valve. It comes as a kit with instructions grease, and a little tool to hammer your pins out. Lemme know if this helps. Please rate me

MY PNEUMATIC STAPLE GUN WON'T WORK/ looses air through firing lever. How do I repair it? Where do I put the oil in?

I would agree with rowdy that the make and model number are essential to getting the right parts - If you have that information, just find a dealer that supports your brand. That being said, air leaking out the trigger area is likely to be an O-Ring or Seal problem. Pneumatic staplers have O-rings and Seals that need to be replaced periodically. Most have rebuild kits available that contain all the O-Rings and Seals that need to be replaced. Many staplers have O-rings and/or Seals on or near the trigger shaft that can wear and allow air to leak out
