That is gonna be the place to start but you also want to check the pc board for burn damage, and test your capacitors. unless you are electronically savvy i would bring it in as you could cause more damage. doesn,t hurt to get an estimate, you can always take it home and do the repairs yourself if you feel up to it.

  • roland Mar 31, 2011

there should be some print on the chips. do a google search for those part numbers and i'm sure you will find them. you may also contact rockford fosgate to see if they carry these parts for sale.

How do you remove the tensioner pulley on a 1998 Saab 900 SE Convertible 2.0

Disconnect the Negative Battery Cable
2. Remove the air breather/cleaner and hose from between the air breather/cleaner and throttle housing
3. Remove the strain of the belt tensioner off the belt and pry off the belt
4. Remove the right front wheel
5. Remove the belt cover & Disconnect the battery Cable and the red alternator power wire.
6. Remove the two Alternator Bolts that secure the alternator to the bracket
7. Remove the three bolts that hold the header pipe up to help give room to remove the alternator
8. Remove the converter bolt from the converter bracket and mover the converter over to aid in the alternator removal
9. Refit in reverse

Working from Top down:
disconnect battery 2) not necessary to remove airfilter box but does give more breathing room for belt removal/instal 3) un-tension serpentine belt with a 1/2" drive long extension in the square of the tensioner & pull towards the front of the car to release the serpentine belt 4) lock tensioner with about a 4mm pin(Allen key will do) by pulling forward with that 1/2"drive extension & pinning the tensioner with that hole 5) remove tensioner with 8mm Allen key or drive(not necessary to remove R side engine mount & raise engine) and be careful to not knock and cause to release the tensioner-they hurt when they snap! 6) remove upper alternator bolt(8mm Allen key/drive).

Working from Bottom of the engine bay:
disconnect cables at alternator(13 & 8 mm nuts) 8) remove R wheel/inner fender skirt that covers the harmonic balancer(10 & 8 mm heads)/ tie back flex hose to strut 9) remove lower alternator bolt(8mm alley key/drive) 10) wedge/rotate out alternator of its mounts 11) disconnect exhaust pipe rubber hangers at catalytic converter and mid section of exhaust 12) you can bend(and later re-bend into position the hanger studs) (OR undo front header studs/nuts to free up the front part of the exhaust) to push over the exhaust and pull out the alternator(pulley nose down)--be careful when getting the alternator out as the downstream O2 sensor is right there(a good precaution would be to remove it)......reverse procedures to install.

One of my outputs does not work at all, the other works fine, when i go to bridge it doesnt word even not. How can i find out what issue i must repair, can it be the Si-PNP 250v 16a 250w

First of all you have to check The positive and negative 95V in the collector pin of all output tansistors. There should be +95V in the all collectors of MJ15024 and --95V in all collectors of MJ15025 poer the output transistors of faulty channel.ANd tere should be +/-- 0.5 volt in all output transistors base pin. All emitter pin should be aproximatly 0V. If not then you have to check the tansistors Q13 to Q16 and Q17 to Q20. Also the driver transistors Q9, Q10, Q11,Q12,.
If you need the schematic diagram that i will sent it to you.

How do I change the brake light bulb in my 2004 Honda odyssey

One comment - having just replaced a bulb. After you remove the two screws - the assemby will be loose, but doesn't just slide back. There is a plastic pressure fitting that will hold the assembly in place. Applying force to pull the assembly out caused me to crack the plastic panel where the two screws go. So don't do that! I found that applying a bit of pressure - via a flat tip screwdriver - between the assembly and the car body "popped" the plastic pressure fitting and allowed me to change the bulb. I was applying pressure to drive the assembly toward the rear of the car(and slightly up). Reassembly was just a matter of 1) gluing the cracked plastic back in place 2) aligning the white plastic pressure fitting into its receiver and 3) replacing the screws and covers. Hope this was helpful

No "connection" between engine & trans?

check your driveshaft from the trans to wheel (both L and R). Possibly it popped out or is disconnected.

Optiquest Q9

I had this problem with my Q9 and I was glad to find the FixYa website with help. But I will offer more detailed info for novices to make sure you find the capacitors. First of all, it is not easy trying to find out how to open the monitor up! First, set it down flat on it's face, being careful not to scratch the screen. Pop off the cap that covers the stand mount to the screen. You might also want to remove the base by squeezing the bottom tabs to the middle and pushing them out. Once the base cover is removed, you will see the 6 screws holding the base arm to the screen. Remove those and the arm will come off. Now, on the bottom right, there is a beveled slot where you can fit a flat bladded screw driver to start to snap open the case. Move around the case separating it carefully until it is completely un-snapped. Unplug the speaker cable (mine gave me some trouble but I worked it side to side and it finally let go). You can push the videop cable through the the back case to get the case out of the way. Once you have removed the back half of the case you will not immediately see the offending capacitors. You will need to remove 4 phillips screws holding down a metal shield on the power board. You may also have to remove some metal tape covering 2 of the screws. When the screws and tape are removed, you will need to slide the metal shield to the right to release it from a 3 pin connector that the two boards. Be careful that you don't damage that connector. Lift up on it a little and slide it left until the connector is disconnected. Now you can see the capacitors. I only had to replace the 3 bulging ones and that fixed my problem as well. Thanks all for your helpful comments in saving me money on a new monitor!!
