I am trying to find a manual for the sb21b and as-14 nikon flash unit. I have tried nikon support but no luck. Does anyone have a reliable site for old nikon manuals?

I'm afraid I can't help you with the AS-14, but you can download the SB-21 manual at http://www.cameramanuals.org/flashes_met...

Hi, I have an AS-14 / SB21 combo, will this work with a modern Nikon D SLR? Many thanks in advance.

Yes. If you're worried about the flash trigger voltage, it's not a problem. However, you won't be able to use the iTTL capabilities of the camera as you would be able to with a more modern flash. Your camera manual should have a section on using it with older flashes.

Connection between 28-135 nikkor lens and my nikon D70s camera

First you need to tell me where you got a nikkor 28-135 - I dont find any reference to that piece of glass on the nikon site - I believe you might have a sigma or some other brand glass but not NIKKOR... TO your problem - have you tried setting the f-stop to f22? Most lenses talk to the camera bodies via f22 - if not try opening the lens up to its widest setting - typically when you see an F flashing it is because the f stops have been moved off of the AUTOMATIC SETTING - have you tried using the camera in manual mode?

Nikon d60 When I try to take a picture with the

That is a problem that has to do with the Flash...make sure your flash settings are not turned on. If the flash can't find an image...it rotates and usually never finds the image. It's reading in a Flash mode.

I have a new D3000 and a nikon SB-600 flash. I

From the Nikon site, do you have one of these flash units.
Support for the Nikon Creative Lighting System when using SB-900, SB-600, or SB-400 Speedlights, or the SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander
If so You set the flash mode to "comander" the pop up flash must be UP

This Video by Nikon shows how but you will have to read the manual to get a full description go to the flash section http://www.nikondigitutor.com/eng/d300s/index.html

Then look at them all :)

Sync speend

1/125 of a second, according to Nikon, but I've found on my N8008 that using 1/60 is more reliable.

if you use one of Nikon's dedicated Speedlights (SB-24, SB-23, SB-22, SB-20, SB-18, and SB-16B) then they set the synch speed automatically.

Metz 58 AF with Nikon d90 wont flash

Hi, Bad news for you.

Try this.
  1. put new batteries in flash.
  2. turn flash on off camera.
  3. listen for capacitor to squeal (high pitched whistle). If you hear it it is charging. If not capacitor is bad.
  4. Also should see flash ready light come on. If it does not same as #3 above.
  5. If you pass #3 & 4# above press manual flash/check/test button on flash. No flash means bulb is out. It can be replaced.
Hope this fixed ya. Please rate. Good Luck! Comment back if you need further assistance.

Flash out of sync

I just had mine fixed by nikon and it seems as though the problem would come back every now and then. my current solution is to switch over to Manual mode and turn AF assist, AF illumination, and ISO control to "ON" and then then shoot a few shots. Then switch metering to centerweight. take a few shots, it should work correctly, then switch back to AUTO. after that, the flash should fire as normal. I just received my body back about 2 weeks ago, so i hope my "bad batch" flash unit was replaced with a known good one. if not, i don't know what to do.
