I bought a new Ricoh 430dn, had problems with the transfer unit and the feed printing cardstock so I bought a Ricoh SP C311n, problem now is pagemaker must need a different PPD, when I try to print, even though the default settings are bypass tray and cardstock, only with pagemaker - It comes up with an alert to change to bypass tray and cardstock - my defaults and config page show tray priority bypass, cardstock - works fine with Word. I have deleted and reinstalled the printer and drivers numerous times now. please help

Have you setup for double-sided printing?

you need to go into the print menu on the printer and change the paper tray size back to letter, when you have it right there will be an asterik next to letter confirming that it was programmed

You must first try to clean the paper feed roller which you will inside of the printer (bottom) when you pull out the paper tray. If this not works, then I am 100 % sure that the magnetic clutch which operates this feed roller must be replaced. I can tell you the part number for ricoh part catalog:
GX20-0014. If you don't have tech skills please don't do it by yourself because it's a hard and precision work. Call for help tech support

SC285 is a line position adjustment error. It is possible the ID sensors are dirty. In order to get to them you have to remove the PCUs and developers as well as the transfer belt assembly. The sensors are behind the shutter that is next to where the upper most PCU would be inserted.
