We need instructions for installation of correction ribbon

If your Brother GX-8500 electric typewriter is not typing after replacing the ribbon, here are a few things you can try:

The correction ribbon is installed on a separate mechanism on a typewriter. If you look between the regular ribbon guide and the card holder you should see the correction ribbon guides on the right and left hand side of the card holder. the spool holders will be to the right and left of the correct ribbon guides. This is true only if the typewriter has a correction mechanism installed. Some machines do not have a correction mechanism. Correction is achieved by using a correction tab which is held by hand, in front of the letter to be removed, or white out. Some correction tapes attach to the bottom of the print ribbon.

The correction tape clips to the bottom of the ribbon, The ribbon has two small feet that hook into the front of the ribbon deck then just snap it into place the blue latch holds it in place.

Move the blue lever on the R. side of the ribbon to the rear and lift the ribbon out unsnap the correction tape from the bottom, reattach the correction tape to the new ribbon. Insert the the two small tabs on the rear of the ribbon into the slots in the ribbon deck and snap ribbon into place. I called a local dealer for instructions. Apparently I accidentally released the daisy wheel when installing the new correction ribbon. Thank you.

The correction tape cartridge "piggybacks" under the ribbon cartridge. Flip your black ribbon over, line up the front dges of the two ribbons and gently press down on the correction ribbon 'till the two wing tabs at the top are attached to the slots at the top of the black ribbon. Be sure to take up any slack in the ribbons BEFORE re- installing.

Where can I locate instruction on how to install the correction ribbon on a Smith Corona electric typewriter?

The Ribbon can only be installed correctly as you have to lower a bar after to allow the printer to start if it was in incorrectly this arm would not lower and you would get no printing.
