Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya.
Whenever your oven does not display the correct temperature this is due to a faulty temperature sensing probe this is a very common issue with all makes of ovens so dont feel left out lol any way what you will need to do is to contact your local appliance dealer and ask the if they have a temperature probe for your oven if not you can order it online thru repair or appliance parts pro's .com all you need to provide them with is the make and model number of this oven ok ?
I have provided a picture of what this part will look like for you it is below this

and one other thing that may be going on is that your temperature setting part may be starting to go out so you may want to look in to this too ok

My old admiral oven doesn't get to the temperature I want, could it be the oven temperature sensor?

  1. You can do a simple at-home test.
  2. Purchase an inexpensive oven thermometer (the kind that hang from the rack are great but whatever is designed for oven).
  3. Then set your oven on 350 and wait for oven light to go out (indicating it is at temperature). Compare the temperature on the thermometer (it should say 350 but sounds like your results will be less).
  4. If it is not the same temperature you have SOME adjustment that can be made. Most oven temperature control switches have the ability to adjust/calibrate. Depending on make and model you may be able to pull the temperature adjustment knob off and see a screw and a slot. Loosen the set screw and turn the post slightly then re-seat the screw.
  5. Repeat the test on step 3 again and see if you are closer.
  6. If it got worse, loosen screw and turn the other way (and re-test).
  7. If it got better but not quite right, repeat the procedure.
  8. If you are unable to adjust to get the temperature correct you may have a faulty temperature sensor.

The ovens no longer get up to temperature. And if you do get it to a temperature, it does't stay at that tem. It just continues to get cooler.

My oven comes on and reaches the right temperature but then it starts beeping and shows F-2 or an F-4 in the display window. Then it stopps cooking.

Your temperature sensor is inside the oven in the top rear section. It is metal about 3 inches long. You can remove it from inside the oven. The F2 and F4 codes is a bad temp sensor.
