Question about Sony KDS55A2000 55" HDTV
You will need to check the fans are all switching on when you turn the tv on, it might be one of the fan sensors that has gone bad, the tv wont turn on if it detects that the fans or a single fan is not working. I have not worked on this particular set , but that would be the first place i would look, if you find a fan is not firing up and if you have a multimeter, then check to see if you have a 12v voltage going to the fan, an easy way of rectifying it is to run a wire from one of the other working fans to the positive of the fan that isnt working. This would at least eliminate the fan as the culprit, if the tv starts up normally then the problem lies in why the fan is not receiving power. I ran a tv using this method for over 8 months before it died, from other problems i might add , not the fact i bypassed the fan power circuit.
