Question about Bissell 9200 Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Originally worked fine, but after storing it for about 8 months-a year, it still powers on and sucks but it will not squirt the water and soap to wet it, or even spray just the water to rinse. Help!!! I'm sure there has to be some filters or something that is plugged up and needs cleaned or replaced.

Hi,

First, check to see that you put the water in the bladder rather than in the clear tank. Second, did you fill the solution bottle? The Bissell shampooer will not spray water if either of these is empty.

Also, if the seal on your take did not fully seal, the water will not come out. Take the tank out and be sure it is firmly seated.
Another reason for no spray could be if the pump isn't primed. To do this, first turn the machine off for at least a minute. Then turn it back on again.

This usually solves most problems. If it doesn't, comment back to us.

I hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote or comment. Thanks,

Handie Andie

Carpet Cleaner won't squirt

For some reason it sounds like the pump is not priming. You can probably manually doing this by disconnecting the out going hose at the pump, pouring in a little water, reconnecting the hose and then trying.

I love my floor cleaner n I would be lost without it. I use it once if not twice a week. But...when I went 2 use it this week it will not squirt the water out when I pull the trigger so I used a squirt...

Check that the bung that closes off the water outlet hole is not stuck in the outlet. Remove the water container and check the underside where the outlet is while operating the opening mechanism.

I have a rainbow aquamate carpet shampooer. I cannot get it to pump carpet cleaner.

If it is the one with the big white water supply tank, it needs to soak with water in it for a few Days, then it may take a little bit of running,(10 minutes at the most, at a time, then let it cool, for 30 minutes in between attempts) while you are spraying water out. Make sure the soap control is on the soap bar with suds around it, and not the soap bar that is crossed out. If it is spraying water, you can keep running it. The 10 minute limit, is only if it is not spraying anything.

If it is an earlier one, it has a clogged soap pick up tube, or the soap control cap thing on the end of it.

If it is the latest big blue one, it never will probably work again. All of them must be flushed out after usage before storage, and the new one must have both, the soap and the water passages on the unit sucked out by the Rainbow vacuum, before it is stored. I have never got one of them to work again, once that it was clogged up, from not being cleared out, like it is supposed to be before storage of it.

If you need more help, let me know,
Ralph

Floormate stopped vacuming water

I'll answer last question first. Your floormate has a 1 year warranty. And should be taken in for repair.

Your issue of not picking up water, is related to suction and getting the dirty water to the recovery tank. check for obstruction in the nozzle, check the filter for debris clogging. If you have an issue with this dealer I would call customer support.

Dirt Devil Featherlite carpet shampooer won't release solution

Had the same problem only after 2 uses, called the 1 800# said that soap may have "gummed" up the line did everything they said but didn't work. Would cost more in service repair if I could find a authorized dealer to fix than I paid for the machine. Would not recommend this machine to anyone.

No Water

Does water squirt out of the hose nozzle, if it does, then check the heater inside the handle asm. Make sure that where the tubes hook up to it are not clogged. If water doesn't squirt, check for the seal at the bottom of the tank, it needs to be on the tank, not in the hole, this is for the soap bottle also, there is a seal on the bottom of it as well. The flow indictor cap is leaking air or maybe is too tight. If you had the top cover off, make sure that the tubes are routed right so as not to get pinched when the cover is put back on, the smart mix knob should be in the water setting and that the piston is on the bottom of the smart mix knob. Pump is bad. Try running a mix of vinegar and water to see if that unclogs the lines. Is the top cover and the base tight together in the back, sometimes the top breaks loose and it will raise up and it can't spray, just re-fasten it down.

First is the smart mix valve turning like it should? If it is then replace the soap dispensor. Also is the gasket on the valve at the bottom of the bottle?

Will not dispense soap from handle

The soap dispenser, on the side, make sure the seal is on the bottom of it and not in the hole. You may have to replace the valve asm for the dispenser part # 2101795

Hoover SteamVac V2 - won't release water

sorry this is so late. the problem might be that the tubes are clogged. after each use most people just put the machine away. in most cases the soap is still in the tube, and when it hardens it clogs the tubes. after each use you should run clear water to get rid of any soap in the tubes before putting away.
