Question about Dishwashers
The dishes being cloudy and spotty stainless is a symptom of believe it or not in most cases a drain restriction external to the dishwasher. The drain is most likely partially clogged somewhere after the dishwasher. This can be in the area of the sink Air-Gap, the Garbage Disposal Port or if a direct sink connection the sink connection port. You need to pull the cover off of the Air-Gap, unscrew the inner cap then lift off the cap and look inside the Air-Gap for debris. Some installations do not use an Air-Gap but most do. Use a flashlight and look inside at the Air-Gap to sink hose connection port also. Then check the rest of the plumbing connections for restrictions. I am sure you have probably already done the above but you must make sure you check the sink connection ports for obsructions. The most common obstructions are the garbage disposal port and the Air-Gap. Make sure to check for signs of a fold in the drain hose also. If you notice any folds straighten the hose and tape a stick over the outside of the hose like a a splint to keep it from folding again.
There can even be something blocking the pump inlet like soft plastic. Last check is to inspect the motor pump impeller for any looseness or broken blades.
Most wash water systems have the lower spray arm, spray arm base support, tower, a diffuser, the pump which that can have both upper and lower impeller blades along with a macerator. Any one of these can affect your dishwashers performance.
If you are absolutely certain that the drain is clear... you must start looking at the wash system components above "In italics"
Normally of you do all of the above you will resolve your dirty dishes post cycle problem.
If you want details specific to YOUR dishwasher I will need you to provide a COMPLETE model number in you next response.

The key ... let me say that again ... The Key to clean dishes is hot water in your machine. Second is the cleaning compound you use. I suggest you get hot water in your sink before you turn on the dishwasher. I think you will see a big difference.
