I had the same problem on my laptop only with a dell printer. the printer worked great with my older computer that had windows xp. it could be the drivers for the printer are not compatiable with vista. try to find new drivers on the manufacturers website, thats what i would do.

so just go to the website of the printers manufacturers and look up ur model number and then try to find drivers for it.

Invalid product key Windows Vista Home Premium with Toshiba

this could be because someone took the license key that was origionally installed on your computer, did you lent it out? The same product key can not be activated on 2 computers unless it has multiple licenses. I had this problem, but i simply called microsoft and they shut down the other product key and gave me a new one for free.

HP Compac with Vista Home Premium & Lexmark X5150 All-in-One

Do not install any extra drivers. Vista is supposed to have the driver for this printer. Just plug in and let the system add this hardware thru add printer option. Keep it connected to the the net, have some patience, it will resolve the problem itself. If you interfere or try to refresh then it might just hang and not recognize the printer at all unles the registry is thorougly clead And the folder is deleted from My Programs on C drive. Its a bit dicey if it does not sucessfully install by itself due to interference. The only way out is either have a good registry editor or repair the OS installation once....sodeep

Lexmark X5070m for Windows vista

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I am thinking about getting one of the X5070m printers. I talked to my computer repair tech first to get his opinion and he told me to load the program disc first and follow the step by step instructions and NOT to connect the printer until it tells you to. So yes, uninstall and reinstall the program and follow the above and you should be set. If not...let me know before I buy one too.
