Try to shut down, reboot and then see what happens,

also exit from all non essential programs and free up as much memory as possible and see what happens then. often a program cant work if the computer is out of memory

Everytime my notebook gets started up it freezes about 45 seconds later

It seems alot of people have had similar issues with these PC's.
Sounds like it could be a virus or registry error. But could also be a hardware error. Does the machine run hot? If so, try cleaning the vents and running it on a hard, flat surface. If that doesn't work I would try running an anti virus and/or anti malware program (in safe mode if that's on option) If that doesn't find anything, then you could try reinstalling the O/S.
Is there a recovery partition on the hard drive?
If none of the above works, then it is probably a hardware issue, hard drive or RAM error, something like that.

Wont load windows

Boot the computer and press F8 until you get into the log-in options screen. First attempt to retore the system to an earlier date. If that doesn't work, Scroll down to Command Prompt and hit enter. Type in chkdsk /r and let it check the disk for errors. If that doesn't fix it you can either boot off of the XP cd and get into the recovery console and use the FIXMBR and FIXBOOT commands to repair the master boot record, if that is the problem, or download a boot cd like BartPE which has disk check tools on it. If none of that works it could be a hardware issue like bad memory of a device driver. Last solution if above does not work might be you have to reinstall Windows.

HELP!!! I was on my computer last night and all of a sudden the screen went black and I could hear sounds in the background, so I shut it down and when I started it back up, I can see the line where it...

Try to boot in safemode. Turn off the laptop and keep tapping F8 upon turning ON, the advance boot option will come out. Select the Safemode option just the regular one. Wait until loaded on safemode.
Try to back up your files under safemode. Your laptop is already infected with virus and the OS is starting to get corrupted. After backing up the files...you need to do the system recovery to completely delete the virus. The recovery instruction is on the disc case so follow steps. In case you don't know here's the instruction. Insert disc 1 and shutdown the laptop, hold C upon turning ON, let go of C when Toshiba screen comes out, always select the first option, like to select Toshiba recovery wizard. You don't really have to change anything because it's all set to defaults, all you need is to hit next all the time...when you see, "initializing the partition please wait" then that is the start.

Hope it works

I'm trying to link my laptop to my hannspree monitor to view a dvd. how is this done?

Hello,

The exact process varies by make and model of your laptop, I will give you the "generic" hookup instructions, if you get stuck at any point simply reply back with the make and model of your laptop and the exact model # of the Hannspree and I can give you more specific instructions.

First you need to identify which video out ports you have on the laptop, most current models have VGA which has 15 pins in three rows of five, these carry video only. Many current models also have HDMI outputs which can carry audio and video. Now check the Hannspree and see which options it has. Identify one of the port types which is available on both the laptop and the monitor.

Once you've identified which ports will work hook up a cable between them and turn on the monitor. As far as I'm aware the Hannspree should switch to the chosen input so long as nothing else is hooked to the monitor. Now look at the bottom left portion of your keyboard, there should be an "Fn" key. This works like a Shift key only it activates the pictographs on some of your keys. Depending on the brand the "Fn" key can be one of many colours.

Whatever colour it is, look through the pictures on your F-Keys(the top row), depending on brand you should see , "crt/lcd" a picture of 2 monitors or a single box with a line on either side. Hold the Fn key down and while holding it, press the F-Key you found with one of the monitor symbols. Depending on the brand this will either cycle between laptop, external or both or it will bring a menu up on the laptop screen offering options.

Once you've set it to external or both monitors, if the hannspree isn't showing and image check the manual or reply back with the model number and I can help you figure out how to switch inputs on the monitor.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

How to change my wallpaper cause mine wont let me for some reason

ok, listen carefully. i was trying to figure out how to change my background, cuz i have the acer aspire with windows 7 starter, and with starter, you just not allowed 2 change your background, but if you upgrade to anything higher than starter you can change your background. so theres a way to get free windows home primium. whatyou do is go 2 control panel, then go click on "windows anytime upgrade" then click on enter upgrade key. then ente this code below. just copy and paste it.

RHPQ2-RMFJH-74XYM-BH4JX-XM76F

after that it will upgrade you from windows 7 starter, to windows home premium. for FREE!!! it will probably take about 10 or 15 mins for it 2 fully upgrade. your laptop will restart like twice. then log on your laptop, and some stuff will pop up, telling you about home premium, just ignore it. then, after that all you gotta do 2 change your background is click on a picture and hit set as background. oh yeah, the first time i set a pic for my background it sorta put it way at the top, if it does that 2 u, just go 2 ur pictures folder n "my computer" and right-click on the picture you want to set your background as, and click "edit" it will then take you to the paint mode, after that click on like the little arrow in the top left corner, then go down to set as background, click the little arrow next to it, and then click the last option in the drop box, it says "center" then.....there you go! you go a like $150 kit. FREE. email if you got any questions or cant figure it out. yuh_girl_kk@yahoo.com

My hannspree install disc doesn't work with my mac pro but everythings working fine. Should I bother trying to install the disc or am I all set?

Your Hannspree monitor should work fine like it is, but you will get a better picture and more resolution options if you download the drivers needed. If you are unable to find the correct drivers for your monitor, let me know the model number and I will find them for you. Try:

Hi,
Another option is to view the picture you want using the "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer" then right-click on the image and click on "Set as Desktop Background". This should help you have a new background.

Don't forget to rate... Post back if this doesn't work...

Background Color

1) In the Applications Menu on your copy screen there should be a option to turn on or off a background color fill. Turn it off and try. If it still comes out try hitting panel reset. If this doesnt work. 2) You have a bad Image Unit. Change the yellow image unit. 3) You may also have a bad write unit. Pull out the four write units and check the yellow write unit. It may have gone bad in which case it needs to be replaced.
