Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

System has got 512 DDR 400. Can I increase the ram capacity, as the system is working very slow. Upto what capacity the ram can be increased. Ravi

Depends which version of their board you have, I will list them here so you can just check your board and reference the right one:

Intel Desktop Board D865GLC - 4GB maximum Ram
Intel Desktop Board D865GSA - 2GB maximum Ram
Intel Desktop Board D865GLCLK - 4GB maximum Ram

If you only have 512MB Ram at this point then you definately will see huge performance increases if you take it up to at least 2GB and if you can take it to 4GB (especially since these boards only have onboard video instead of graphics card)

How can I upgrade ram?

check for the clock speed of your old ram.... check for the type(DDR/DDR2/DDR3).. check your motherboard for capability to adapt greater capacity of new RAM.... buy a new one with same specifications but of greater capacity.... replace it with the old one or you can plug it to the empty slot if found any on the board....

I have compaq presario 5000 series...and iwant upgrade my ram ...i have 128+128 sd ram so how much i upgrade my ram...can i upgrade 512+512 sd ram OR 256+256 sd ram...thank you

the RAM upgrade will depend on ur motherboard capacity and specification.
u need to check ur MB manual
if ur MB can have only SD RAM then only SD RAM upgrade is possible...DDR will not work....
so be careful while buying ur RAM

intelD845GLLy MB...the following details are from the intel website

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845glly/sb/CS-012825.htm

System Memory Features
The D845GLLY board provide the following memory features:
  • Two DIMM sockets supporting 3.3 V (only) 168-pin 133 MHz Single Data Rate (SDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
  • Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only
  • Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
  • Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only
  • Suspend to RAM
Caution Do not use ECC DIMMs with the Desktop Board. Using ECC DIMMs could damage the Desktop Board.
Integrator's Notes:
  • Registered DIMMs are not supported on the Desktop Board.
  • This Desktop Board has been designed to support DIMMs based on 512 Mbit technology for a maximum onboard capacity of up to 2 GB, but this technology has not been validated on this board.

Note To be fully compliant with all applicable PCI33 SDRAM memory specifications, the board should be populated with DIMMs that support the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) data structure. This allows the BIOS to read the SPD data and program the chipset to accurately configure memory settings for optimum performance.
hope this helps

Maximum ram capacity for the board

You can look it up at this site: http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d865gvhz/sb/cs-010872.htm
but I believe it will be max. 2 GB per slot(DIMM)'s, so depending on the no. of slots on your MB x 2 will be the max. RAM capacity................sodeep

I want to upgrade my HP BA 600 Mother Board`s RAM Capacity

Hello,
Most likely your MB is too old for this upgrade although there is a chance you could flash your bios (reprogram your computer's brain to accept the new memory providing hp has a flash for it).
here is a link for the latest bios flash for your computer, use at your own risk.
