Won't recognize the disc as a game... how do we fix this? Its a brand new Wii game.

Check the bottom of the Game Disc (the side without any labels or writing) for any dirt or damage (such as cracks, scratches, etc.).

If the games look significantly damaged, such as with scratches or cracks, it will need to be replaced.

If the game looks dirty (fingerprints, smudges), try cleaning the Game Discs. If the problem persists, the Game Discs will need to be replaced. or Click here to download repair guide

It is unable to read any disk that we put in there. Have try the cleaning disk in it did not help it. I was wonder what else I could do to fix it. thank you for your time.

Hi the only real thing you can try yourself is to go to a computer hardware store and buy a cd lense cleaning kit it is a cd with little brushes on it that spin like a normal cd/game and this then cleans any dust of the lense and doing this may solve your problem.

if it dont then check your games are in good condition with no scratches on either side of the cd as the data is stored not on the bottom of the cd but it stored under the picture so as the laser looks up through the bottom of the cd it reads the data from the back of the picture on the disk

check their are no scratches and of their are none then the chances are the dvd drive will need replacing, check if you have any warranty left before you let any one do any work on it as this fault is covered by warranty

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Cant read disk

Check to see if there are any scratches on the disc. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating “Disc Read Error” or something to that effect. Best remedy for starters, is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs. Try a different disc and if this works then the problem is more than likely with that disc and it needs repairing.
Most Game Discs, DVD’s and CD’s can be fixed quite easily. Some home remedies may help with very light scratches on some of these discs but a professional disc repair service is usually required to repair any discs with more than very light marks or scratches. Discs can normally be repaired back to a virtually new condition.

If you tried some home remedies and they have not worked, try sending the disc off for repair. Contact the site above for advice on repair and shipping.

When i put game in comes up disc error what do we do

If the problem exists with all disks, your problem is with the disk drive itself. Wii disk drive cleaning kits retail less than US 8$ and are your best solution in this case. They include a custom sized microfiber tool used to clean the laser reading lens inside your Wii disk drive. If you have trouble with just one disk, the disk you are using may be dirty, scratched, or defective. Try cleaning your disk with water and a soft cloth (Do not use a paper towel, it will just leave paper pieces on the disk.) If the cleaning does not help, look for scratches on the top AND bottom of the disk. The slightest scratch on the disk can cause a read error. If you have a scratch you can try a disk buffer. Some video and game rental stores offer a disk buffing service for a small fee, if buffing and cleaning do not work, your disk is most likely defective. Return the game to the store you purchased it from and ask for a replacement if possible.

Console not being read

Try updating the firmware... Also, check if any other disc works or not.. If it does, then get the disc which you have inserted is at fault, try to replace it... If that's not possible, try cleaning it by various methods... If all else fails, and you have no other option but to throw that disc, try using toothpaste on it ... It works sometimes..

Game cube won't read me discs

purchase a CD scratch removal kit from a store or garage sale. You will have a very hard time getting the scratches out smoothly without the machine.

Removing scratches on my game cds

This is an all to often problem. I have had the same problem with my [music] CD's that have skipped tracks. There are many commercial disk cleaners on the market that will get the job done, though since gamecube disks are smaller than typical CD's, you might have to find a special kind of disk cleaner.
Though, you should know that these cleaners will typically only remove surface scratches, and that any deep scratches that may have made data unreadable can not, and will not be fixed.
Here is the typical disk cleaner, at a modest price.
And here is a specific game disk cleaner, at a much higher price.

Game Cube will not read disks. Please help!

you can clean the disks using tap water and then drying with soft cloth have you tried a lense cleaner to clean the laser on the cube get a good brand one not a cheap one also you can buy a disk cleaner that gently takes the scratches out of cds and gets them as new but you will have to shop around to get one but these work on anything cd dvd games the lot so deff worth having one as lots of people throw out dvds cd and games due to the scratches stopping them working but remember the data on a disk isnt on the plastic it is on the layey the other side of plastic the plastic is their to protect the data getting damaged so removing the scratches does not damage the disk if you have scratches this will affect the disk because the laser cant read through the scratch so polishing these scratches out will make the disk as new not many people know you can do this so consider yourself having privalaged info hope this is some help to you but you might have to ask arround for a disk repair so good luck you could even charge people to repair their disks and games this works for anything on a cd style disk.........................................................
