i forgot to ask, if i uninstall the software will it also delete my photos that have already been stored on the computer in ib? and should i re install the software that i have been given in the camera pack, or use the link you provided?

And i have always had problems with not being able to update the software since i first installed it last year, will this be fixed also?

When i try and import photos from my camera (even not using ib, just windows) it will freeze half way through and a message on my camera will come up saying connection lost...this has happened many times.

Do you think there is a problem with my camera aswell or just the software?

    thanks kim

You need to reload the software. The free download is at
http://www.ibonthenet.com/ns/
This should allow you to import photos. Let me know if you have any other problems or questions. Thanks.

Check to make sure that your photos are actually saved in a normal picture file and not in an ib specific file.
Generally, even if you reload an application, the data files are kept and not deleted and overwritten.
If you download from your camera continues, let me know and we can address that problem.
keep in touch until we solve the problem to your satisfaction.

To be safe I would save the ib data files in a separate folder before reinstalling the application. Reload does mean uninstall and reinstall. Once you've installed, copy the ib data files back to the original directory.

  • Bob Kitaji Apr 04, 2011

The images on the camera should not be affected by reloading the application.
The message on your region: where are you located? I have no problem accessing and downloading the application. Thanks.

Let me know if your plan to copy the files and reload your provided software works. If you need, I can work on downloading the software from here in the US and getting it to you. Thanks

IB software for Olympus fe 5035

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Can't upload video from camera to pc Olympus TOUGH TG-310 Digital Camera

Do you have Windows Live Photo Gallery? It comes with Windows 7, but if not you can download it here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/photo-gallery-get-started
  1. Open Windows Live Photo Gallery
  2. Connect your camera
  3. Click the Import icon in the top left corner.
  4. Select your Olympus and click import. It should import both photos and videos.

You can also try and select the videos you want using the file download module Windows displays when a new device is plugged in. If that doesn't work, try
  1. Start > Computer > Olympus Tough TG-310
  2. Then open the folders until you find the videos you want. Select them and copy them to your desktop (or any other preferred location).
I have had video issues with my Olympus TOUGH (could not delete them from the camera) which turned out to be a formatting problem with the memory card.

Best thing to do is to un-install and re-install the Olympus ib program.
If problems exists to continue, you might want to consider installing
another free and better Olympus program, the Olympus Viewer 2.

My computer won't import my pictures anymore, tried to relink it not having any luck

If the computer recognizes the camera when the USB cable is connected,
you can try the DATA REPAIR option in the camera menu (see manual page 41).
After that, you can try the repair database option in the Olympus ib program.

When this does not help, re-install the ib program (it is on the internal memory
of the camera, if you did not format or delete it earlier). If you made a backup,
of the cameras internal memory, re-install the ib program from that backup.

An alternative is to install another free and better Olympus Viewer program.

1. The Camera has a Repair option to repair the camera's database.

2. The ib application has an option to rebuild the database, but after
a re-installation you have to correct first the program settings e.g

I have an olympus sp 800uz camera and my computer won't recognise it to download photos

1. You might be able to download foto's from the camera, when you do it manually from within the installed Olympus program. Windows XP has problems with auto downloading foto's from ib.
2. Otherwise, check if the computer is recognizing the camera (see LCD) and with the Explorer if a removeable memory device is available from the camera.
3. Try putting the camera into another USB port, or try the camera on another computer.
4. As an alternative, you might want to install a better and also free Olympus program:

I don't know how to fix your particular problem with your software, but I always recommend using Google's Picasa for maintaining your photos on your computer. It's free and does some basic editing as well.

Installed the Olympus sp-800uz to my computer, the program was running ok at first but when i click on the icon to open to view photos it does not open. What should i do to correct this problem?

If you have installed the [ib] software from the camera, this program seems to be very unstable and buggy. I would recommend to use the new Olympus Viewer 2 software instead. De-install the [ib] software and download and install the (free) Olympus Viewer 2 software. It supports the SP-800uz.
See: http://support.olympus-imaging.com/ov2download/index/?Lang=ENU
You need to put in your camera serialnumber to be able to download it.

Tried to install new camera but it has not brought up the users manual or IB programme. I can upload photos to the Olympus master programme.

The Olympus SP-800uz users manual can also be downloaded:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_manuals.asp?id=1499
or English:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/oima_cckb/SP-800UZ_Instruction_Manual_EN.pdf
The Olympus [ib] software is on the cameras internal memory, if you did not format (delete) it. Look there for the setup.exe and run it. Although the best alternative free Olympus software is Olympus viewer 2 which replaces also Olympus Master 2:
