This is due to dirty key contacts. They are conductive rubber pills pressed onto circuit traces under the keys. There are two per key which measures the velocity and affects the loudness. Clean these ONLY with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q tips. Disassembly to do this is very labor intensive. One has to be very careful and if you are not adept at this sort of thing, best to take it to a service shop.

Bass guitar volume

Sounds like a bad or dirty volume pot or something is wired incorrectly. Something could be touching across the pins of the volume control, any stray strand of wire close by it could cause it. Any of these could change the circuit design considerably giving adverse effects.

Crate amp very low volume

Effects loops plug sockets get dirty and cause the sound to not get through to the actual power amp. Check those by plugging in a cable and wiggling to see. It needs to be wiggled and unplugged to see. Also, check for dirty volume control.

After several months of being stored i used my roland juno D to find that some of the keys didnt work. I cleaned the rubber contacts etc but they still dont work? and the ones that do are uneven volumes...

Did you clean these contacts with ONLY isoprophyl 99% alcohol and Qtips? If you used another product you may have spoiled the contacts. Also did you clean the circuit board where they contact with the same product?

If you used another cleaner, best to redo your work... quickly... Contact cleaners such as Deoxit and Blue shower destroy this type contact.

try a differrent speaker of suitable wattage and ohmage (displayed with a number next to a ? symbol on the back of the speaker),

or

remove the original amp speaker and gently push in and out on it, checking for uneven resistance or scratching. the speaker should retract and return smoothly, without any scratchiness or uneven resistance from within, and if there is any of this scratchiness or uneven resistance from within, the speaker is likely damaged from too much wattage or distortion.

I just bought an M-Audio Keystation 88ES. I have a used Behringer expression pedal. The pedal works fine in the sustain input, but when I insert the jack in the volume input it cuts all power to the...

If the power goes off when you plug in the pedal, the pedal LIKELY has a short in it between two of the three connections at the plug.

Firat, try putting the pedal plug in BEFORE applying power.

Likely the pedal presents a pot or volume control that will have like 5 volts across it an the wiper returned on the same cable. If the wiring configuration is wrong OR if the plug goes through a period of shorting the 5 volts out during insertion that will cause a problem...

To troubleshoot, move the pedal to half way and these with an ohmmeter for shorts between ANY two of the three connections.

Volume difference in keys

Note that the volume of piano keys depends on the "key velocity" which is the speed that the key is depressed. This velocity is MEASURED by the time between closures of the two contacts associated with each key in this unit.

If some contacts have become dirty, then the volume of those keys will vary.

Clean the circuit board traces AND the conductive rubber "pills" using Q tips and ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol.

This involves dis-assembly of the unit and you may want to seek professional help with this if you are not electronically adept.

Very littel sound in white and black keys. normal

We can only guess at what model/brand you have.

OFTEN such low volume things can be traced to a burned out light used in some expression pedals that use light dependent resistors to vary the volume.

Be aware that on some organs things like rhythm drums MAY go through a different set of speakers and amps than the other voices.
