Hi,

There is a small screw on the right side by the shoe assembly that should allow you to remove it so you can get to the piece broken off. There is also a C-clip that you might have to remove also.

I hope this helps. If it does, I would appreciate a vote or comment. Thanks,

Handie Andie

After using a magnifier I seen that it has a spring roll pin that holds chuck on. I used a punch of proper size and it came right out allowing me to remove broken piece of blade.
Thanks so much for you time and suggestion.

A piece of a broken blade is stuck here the blade fits into the saw (Dewalt DW 303m). How do I get it out?

Craig, a drop of penetrate oil and you will just have to work at it with ice pick.small screwdriver, or needle nose pliers if you can, make sure you have blade release depressed while trying to pry blade shank out. Once you get it moving it will fall out. Clean and blow out blade port before inserting another blade.

Remove the blade, and you will normally see a hole in a lug on the inner ring of the guard and a slot with a bar across it on the upper inside of the fixed guard. Either end of the spring will hook through these. Sometimes (normally on DeWalt) the springs will be attached with a small self tapping screw with a washer at either end.

The blade broke off in my ridgid r3001.

Release the clamp as much as you can, spray with wd40 and either use something like a small piece of wire to free it or try banging it gently down against a piece of soft wood.

Sometimes if you take the set screw completely out and then use a flat blade small screw driver to wege open the throat you can use a dental pick to get it out. Spray it first with wd40.

Hope you weren't using those cheap blades from harbor freight - that is how I learned that trick - bought the dental picks from harbor freight.

The blade clamp collar is a spring loaded knob of sorts that holds the blade in place. If you are not able to pull the blade shaft out of the saw to get at it, plug the saw in and hit the on/off trigger a few times to get the shaft and knob out of the body of the saw. Once you can get at the knob it should be easy to turn it and insert a new blade. Let me know if you have problems.
