Question about Logitech 967233 Keyboard

1 Answer

Hi. Suddenly, I am no longer able to write acute spanish accents from my wireless logitech to my mac. I used to press the alt key and write code in numbers, for example alt + 0225 for accented a. What did I do or press wrong?

Keyboard spanish

If your main input language is Spanish you should use a Spanish keyboard (Spain, Argentina, etc.) Bu if you need tildas infrequently, you may find it easier to have a list of ASCII codes for the letters that require a tilda. With the ASCII codes you type ALT + code.
Another possibility id the installation of a virtual Spanish keyboard which you will pull down to select the special letters.

Hi, I bought a HP Pavilion dm4 two months ago and it seems that it doesn't contain a number lock key. I was wondering if there is a way to insert special characters without going to symbols and copy...

If you were to click on start then All programmes. Select Accessories and then character map.
Select a font and then the code you require.
I find since WinXP Alt0189 no longer works properly and use the character map instead.
Hope that helps.

How do I get the Euro symbol on an ASUS keyboard to operate as it is in tandem with the figure 4?

Whenever there is a symbol to the right of a key, using the Alt Gr key pressed down and then that key tapped, brings the relevant symbol up. Also works if you want an acute accent instead of going to character map, i.e. ?, ?

This could be because of a virus attack or a bad hardware. Lets try to get the virus deleted before going for a change of the hardware. Try to work with an alternate keyboard. If the result is same then its for sure a virus attack. Please do these: Remove the CMOS battery and wait. Format the hard disk. Flash the BIOS using a floppy. Remove the RAM. Reboot. Set a password for BIOS. Apparently it seems that the virus stays in the BIOS as well as on the hard disk. I think setting the password for BIOS prevents viruses from messing with your BIOS. I just need to know how to use the diacritic/accent mark key on my Aspire 5610 keyboard.

I'll be glad to help you out with this. Assuming you have XP, you have 2 choices. Either use the Character Map, or an ALT code.

To access the character map, click

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map

An ALT code is simply when you hold down the ALT key and press a series of numbers on the keypad to get different symbols. Here's a list of ALT Codes:

Hope this helped :)
