How do I change the water line in the door?

  • Greggmark1 Apr 01, 2011

Unplug unit. Disconnect waterline at bottom of freezer door. Remove dispenser cover using flat screwdriver. Two slots at bottom of dispenser cover or two screws under where cup is set. Unplug dispenser cover. Remove assembly that holds switches. Move to the side. Remove 1/4 inch screw holding waterline mount. Pull waterline up and out. New line will go back in fairly easy.

I have a Whirlpool fridge that needs a new water filter. Twice now, when I remove the filter to change it, water gushes out even though the ice maker is OFF. I quickly turn off the water line and mop

The Whirlpool fridge requires a water supply connection to a cold water line. Before you connect the water supply to the water line on the fridge, make certain the unit is unplugged from the wall. Press the button and drop down the cover. Then twist to release the old filter and twist the new one into the filter head. Run about 2 gallons of water through dispenser to remove any air from the lines. Liquid EPDM Rubber Roof Coatings for Roof Leaks Repair EPDMCoatings

I changed the water filter in my Whirlpool refrigerator, model #EDVHEXVQ01. I then tried to reset the filter light, but it did not work. Should I do something different to reset it or did I do something...

Hi

I guess you changed the filter with the fridge plugged in, you need to switch off and unplug the fridge, switch off the water. Then switch on the fridge and bleed the water line for 5 second intervals every 5 seconds for 1 to 2 minutes.
That should solve the problem

Whirlpool icemaker

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

My new Whirlpool Refrigerator the water and ice still stink

Change the supply line to the plastic tube line or copper. Do not use a braided plastic or metal braided line these will make the water taste bad. Changed mine to the plastic line and cured mine, no filters needed.

Water dispenser on our Whirlpool fridge freezer seems to get an airlock from time to time and the water is dispensed noisily and in spurts! Any clues?

TRY AND REMOVE THE PIPES THAT LINK THE WATER TO THE FRIDGE AND REMOVE THE AIR IN THE LINE ALSO THAT CAN BE CAUSED THROUGH THE MAIN WATER LINE TO YOUR HOUSE.

GOOD LUCK.
