I am sorry to say that your computer mainboard may be the problem.

I will need to look for leaked or blown capacitors.
Go through my published guide, it is entitled, My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!

Be sure to clear the BIOS/CMOS, it is also worth replacing the BIOS/CMOS battery with a new one as it could do the trick.

Thanking you!

I have model 1975NW. When power is turned on, green light appears, then orange light. No picture is present.

The ORANGE light indicates "power-saving" mode -- when no "output" from a video-card is being detected, the screen will dim itself. Try a different monitor. Try a different video-card in your computer. Try your monitor on a different computer.

I have an HP the monitor doent turn on but all the light are on how can i fix it.

1. unplug the monitor from the computer and check if you can see the monitor selftest (you will see diff color bars moving around) if you see the monitor self test then your monitor is working fine

2. check the cables. use a diff cable to connect your monitor to the computer. use a known good cable.

3. plug in your monitor to diff computer if it worked then you have to reseat your video card
(NOTE : before removing any internal parts from your computer. your pc must be off and the power cable is removed, after removing the power cable press the power button for about 5 secs to remove any electro static discharge)

4. after reseating the video card and still doesnt work remove the video card from the computer. use the onboard video card if you have one.

if it does work then the video card needs to be replaced.

you can also try to reset the memory by removing them and reinstalling them inside the computer

hope this help

My IBM T40 boots to a black screen with the "z"(light at top to right of power.

Try these steps:

1. Remove battery and unplug AC adapter
2. Press power on button for 30 seconds or so (one min is also too)
3. Attach battery and plug into wall
4. Power "ON" as normal

If you are still getting the "Z" and a black screen then I would have the video card or hard drive looked at and replaced. Start with the video card and then look at the hard drive

Dell inspiron 4150 video dim

The empty slot is for a mini-PC card, usually a wireless network card. The 2 wires are actually the antenna wires that connect to the wireless card. The dim LCD may be a problem with the LCD panel display, video controller or motherboard. Try connecting the laptop to an external monitor by connecting to the Video Connector located on the back of the laptop. If the display on the external monitor appears to be normal, then your LCD display panel on the laptop has a problem. If the display on the external monitor is dim then you probably have a bad video controller card or motherboard.

Monitor picture blurs out and dimming

Hey there chel wjd, My first guess is that your video card is faulty. I suggest you pull it and return your video connection to the onboard port. Ensure you make the necessary setting changes in the bios. If this solves your problem, get yourself another video card. Good Luck!
