Question about Whirlpool ED5GTNXMQ Side by Side Refrigerator
There is probably sediment on the housing o-ring or the o-ring is damaged or not seated properly. You can usually use non-toxic grease to lubricate the o-ring and the threads on the housing. But if the fitting is intact and o-rings are not damaged, then yes it can be faulty cartridge.
----------also carefully press the filter fitting hard and see, if there is still the water dripping. Also re-check the filter fitting. If its dripping water from the water line and not the filter side.If the line is dripping, then there can be hairline crack in water passing line. Also check water valve.-----------If all checked ok, then it can be cartridge issue.------------ check out.keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.
