The most likely cause for this is a damaged or defective flexible ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the camera body. This will require disassembling the camera and LCD unit to repair and can be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not really a user serviceable problem and should be done by a qualified service technician. below is a link to a repair facility which will be able to help you should you need it.
