Question about Kenmore 15762 Dishwasher

1 Answer

I had an E4 error on my Kenwood Dishwasher. I disconnected the water inlet pipe, drained it and reconnected. This cleared the E4 error but now the programs wont display or work. There is a display which is three horizontal lines with a snowflake emblem and a tipping cup emblem with an "s" inside. Can't find any solutions in the manual. Please help!.

You were right about the model number, apologies for not adding it to the first e mail. I have tried everything that you have advised to no avail. Reset symbol is still displayed and dishwasher still not working.

Hello Neil,

You may just need to reset the washer having cleared the error code. This can be done by holding the PROG button for about 3-5 seconds.

The snowflake is the rinse aid warning light and the tipping cup with the S is the low salt warning light. These shouldn't be related to the problem and should disappear when they are refilled.

If holding the PROG button doesn't reset the washer, you need to check whether any water has leaked under the washing compartment. Either remove the kick-plate under the door and check for water visually or pull the washer out from under the counter and tilt it backwards about 45 degrees. The washer is heavy and the bottom can slide out when you do this, so get someone to help you if possible. It's also a good idea to put some old towels on the floor under the back of the washer to catch any water that drains out.

Please try this then let me know if you need further assistance. You didn't specify a model number, but from the description, I'm assuming this is the KDW12ST3A? You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question.

    Hi Neil,

Need you to answer a few quick questions:

    1. Did any water come out from the base of the washer when you tilted it.

    2. If yes, how long since you cleared the water out?

    3. Is the closing properly - does it click shut?

    Thanks

Sorry, number 3 should read: Is the door closing properly . . .

I have e4 showing

E4 error indicate an abnormal water level which means too much inlet water (E5 also is refer at this fault).

I quote other comments/solution about this same error:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had the e4 error code and i took the outer panel off and inside behind the power button is a grey reservoir tank which measures the water that goes inside the dishwasher which actually got bunged up with **** and grease causing the floaty thing to get jammed and cause the e4 code to come on which means abnormal water level the top to the reservoir just unclips on both sides then just clean all the gooey stuff out and put it back together it worked for me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good luck.

Error code E4 is on our display of our KDW243A dishwasher - what does this mean please?

Error code E4 means there is an overflow. Water is probably trapped. If you get error code E4, just tilt the machine back about 45 degrees and let the water drain out. It should come out on both sides. Then, you should be good to go.

My Kenwood Dishwasher shows an E4 error code

Howdy:) An E4 or E5 error indicate an abnormal water level which means too much inlet water. Here is the shortcut to the Kenwood PDF file with the user's manuals.
http://dl.owneriq.net/4/4e71b4c9-e100-4066-a29e-9c46abc1f5cf.pdf

You can cut and paste it into your browser's address window. Your model was not indicated in your message, but the error codes are standard throughout the Kenwood models. I hope you find this useful:)

Dishwasher is giving E1 which according to the manual is water sorce is off. We recently had turned the water off for bathroom repairs but the water has been turned back on, we have disconnected the pipes...

Hi,

This is common, there may be a flood protection device that tripped in the line or sediment got into the system when the water was turned back on.

First turn the water off to the dishwasher. Take the hose or pipe off at the connection under the dishwasher, put a pan or towels under that open pipe. Slowly turn the water on and flush that line until clear. If no water comes out then you will need to do this but further back 'upstream'.

Once water comes clear, turn the valve off again reconnect the pipe/hose to the dishwasher and very slowly open the valve. If the water does not enter now you have sediment in the water inlet valve on the dishwasher itself and that valve will need replaced.

What men cod e4 on dishwosher kenwood kdw12st3a

Hi

Error e4 on Kenmore usually occurs when there is drain clogging or due to debris stuck in the bottom of the dishwasher. Drain out the excess water from the dishwasher, now remove the mesh and the filter. Now, check and remove any food material or debris stuck. Now pour 1-2 litres of luke warm water and let this water drain. After this replace the parts and run the dishwasher on eco mode without any tablets or soap. Try this 2-3 times and then reset the dishwasher by unplugging it for 5-10 minutes.

Please post back for any further assistance.

Kenwood dishwasher Comes up E3

I do not know the Kenwood dishwasher, hence I do not know what the E3 error is, but many dishwashers require a sustained pressure of at least 30 psi.
Can you please post the model number of your Kenwood dishwasher?

The dishwasher still has water in it.  Lean dishwasher back at least 45 degrees and water should drain out through overflow pipe.  It could be caused by the dishwasher not being level.  Otherwise from reading reviews online it seems to be a common fault with this dishwasher and lots of people have returned and purchased different.

Kenwood Slimline Dishwasher KDW8ST2A

I have a Kenwood Kdw8st2a and have been constantly plagued by the E4 overfill error.

Lifting the front of the dishwasher and tilting it backwards seemed to clear the E4 error only for it to come back after the next wash.

I found eventually that the connection to the U bend under the sink was too narrow and was almost blocked hence the dishwasher was not emptying properly.

I disconnected the dishwasher waste pipe and ran the waste into a bucket for about 6 cycles and it worked fine.

Eventually drilled through the kitchen wall and fitted a lower direct waste pipe to the drain. Overkill maybe buit it hasn't done an E4 since.

I had E4. Initially couldn't get it to clear.

In desperation, switched it off, turned it on it side and drained it onto the floor.

The E4 disappeared and the dishwasher is working normally.
