Failing power board capacitors, capacitors store the charge necessary to fire up the monitor, if they leak or blow, the power cannot make a circuit and the screen will shut off

How to enable by ipod

1.Make sure your charger is plugged in to your computer, but not your iTouch.
2.Shut off your iTouch(if charged wait and then shut down)If you can't shut it down.Hold down Sleep/wake button and Home button for about 10 seconds and it will shut down.
3.Hold the home button for 10 seconds, then plug your charger in while still holding it.
4.Keep holding it until a recovery screen comes up(the same screen when you buy one)
5.Open up iTunes, (should open itself) and then click Restore ipod.
Wait around 20Minutes and it should work.
Then it should be done.
(It deletes all your applications, but still works.)

Moniter Messing up

Is youyr monitor a "flat screen" i.e. LCD or is it a CRT. (Flat screens are about 2 - 3 inches thick (or deep), and CRT monitors are about 12 - 18" deep (front to back).

If it's a CRT chances are that there's plroblem with it, and it's shutting off BECAUSE of the problem. EITHER way there wouldn't be a setting to make the monitor shut off after 3 seconds... what would be the point?

Get back to me, but I think your monitor is the problem.

Monitor only stays on for 3 seconds

There is probably a bad capacitor within the monitor that will not allow the picture to "hold" in the on configuration. This will need to be replaced. You can send it back to Phillips, or 17" monitors are pretty cheap these days. I would suggest a Samsung or BenQ. They both carry 3yr warranties.
