Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I have an HP Officejet 5610 All-in-one which is producing a black line which is approximately 1/4" wide down the middle, top to bottom lenghthwise. I have changed the toner, cleaned the glass and cleaned the glass where it feeds. No change.

Most likely the cable connecting the lamp and the logic card is faulty. Get it replaced.

First thing you have to do is run the clean print cartridge utility. You can find it in the Printers and Faxes in the Control Panel, Right Click printer Icon and select Properties and Click on Printing Preferences . Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon. Select Clean the Print Cartridge(s). If still the same thing. Clean the cartridge itself by using clean cotton swab dipped in clean distilled/ filtered water. Check this image: I have an HP Officejet - c00217862.jpg 1 - Clean in the cross-hatched area only 2 - Do NOT touch the nozzle plate 3 - Do NOT touch the copper-colored contacts Do this on both cartridges. Let the cartridge dry for five minutes or use a new swab to dry the cleaned areas before you reinsert the cartridges. If problems persists, change the cartridge.

If you have tried using different input devices, looked for loose contacts
in power outlet, RC Jack, cable and connectors, the TV might need service.

it may be due to either malfunctioning of the scanner tube within the printer itself or whenever you copy a certain page the lid is not properly pace resulting to excess light on that side giving you black line when the copying is in process

A horizontal line is missing in the middle of each letter on an inkjet printer


you cartridges are clogged propably the black one
try cleaning it from printers menu
if you see no improment replace the black one
or refill it using this method to unclogged for sure

All in one x7550 is leaving wide black lines on copies and even on faxes sent out--what's the problem??


The problem is likely the scanner. Both copies and faxes are scanned. Tell it to scan an image. Lift the top, so you can watch the light bar go down the page. Its most likely got a dark area.
If under warranty, make arrangements to get it repaired or replaced. If not it may cost as much as a new printer. It has to be taken apart to replace the part.
