How do i change the screen resolution

Click on Start - Control Panel - Display - Settings tab then click on the slider in Screen resolution and move the silder to the right to increase the screen resolution.
If you cannot increase the screen resolution then most likely the incorrect video driver is installed. In this case install the correct video driver.

I can't get my screen resolution set right on my HP 16 inch monitor

Hi there

It seems that your is that the correct graphics driver is not installed. You not mention any make or model of PC omain board, so all advice I can give is that you download the correct driver the main board manufacturers site if you do not have the install CDr the mainboard.

How do i download sound on my computer? Because i have no sound at all....

go to control panel click open systems - device manager, look for audio, video and gaming devices if there is an exclamation point on the list or questionmark then either a driver foryour sound card is missing or the device is having issues with an incorrect driver.

I believe you download your audio driver from your computer manufacturers website.

Installed Dell Dimension audio and video drivers in worng order. Now, no sound amonng other things. How can I unistall and reinstall the drivers and start over. The chipset and network drivers were in the...

Try re-installing them in the correct order over the top first and see if that sorts it.

Normally though, it shouldn't matter in which order you install the sound and video drivers, they should still work.

if you are using windows xp you can go into control panel, system properties, device manager and delete the incorrect drivers from there.

When i scroll up and down the page is wavey

If for wavy you mean that it is very jumpy as you scroll, not smooth, then it is a classic sign of the incorrect driver for your video card.

I have been having a problem lately with my desktop pc,windows xp

Try running the system in VGA mode.
I assume this is a windows machine.
So hit f8 just before the loading Windows screen comes up. and choose Safe mode .
Then set your video card properties to VGA and reboot, that should get you back into windows.
once in, reload your video card drivers.
All should be good...

My monitor driver has gone naff **** picture an cant fix it ?

I am trying to piece together your vague question....

A monitor driver is not needed unless you are a professional publisher.

I think you are talking about a video driver, if this has become damaged then you will get incorrect/no picture.

Please state:
computer make and model
operating system

This will allow me to help you further

My compaq xp home edition monitor picture squeezes to about a one inch bar on the screen. Is it my monitor or maybe my video card or ?????

So its been around for a while then.

Here are a couple of things you can try.

  • If there is another PC or laptop in your reach, hook the monitor in question up to that to it and see if you still have the problem.
  • Reboot the PC and Press or tap F8 as soon as the PC reboots until you see a black screen with white writing presenting you with boot options.
Select "Safe mode with Networking" and the PC will load Windows with a reduced number the drivers and services. If Windows boots to the desktop in "Safe mode" with out the issue you described, then your driver may be outdated or incorrect.
  • In this case proceed to update the Video driver.
